Well now we know it, The Flash is actually the most important film of the DCU to release this year. James Gunn confirmed last week that the film will reset the DCU. From the Snyderverse it will transition into the all new James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU which would use all the working parts from the previous universe while they pull out the weeds. We already know that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck won’t be part of this universe, so The Flash will definitely make an effort to show us why they’re not who they were once. Ezra Miller’s future remains a mystery but if recent reports are to be believed then the actor might be able to keep his job at DC. Well, whatever it is I should say one thing that everyone is looking forward to the new trailer that is all set to debut this weekend. Well, at what time is it releasing?
The Flash Trailer Release Date and Time Revealed!
A new report by Heroic Hollywood revealed that The Flash new trailer will premiere this Sunday, February 12th during the Super Bowl game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. A short preview of the Ezra Miller-led movie is reportedly scheduled to be released around kick-off time, which is at 6:30 p.m. ET/ 3:30 p.m. PT. Afterward, near the end of the first quarter a new TV spot will air on Fox with footage from the trailer. The Flash is not the only the movie which will release a trailer during the game.
Marvel Studios is also not holding back as they’ve booked two spots, one for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and second for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The spot for Quantumania will most likely be for a TV spot but the Guardians spot is likely for a full length trailer. If rumors are to be believed then a teaser trailer for The Marvels might also air during the game but there is no confirmation on this matter. The Flash trailer debuting during the Super Bowl was supposed to be strategic move from DC.
It was to divert attention away from Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which releases just 5 days after the game. However, it looks like Marvel has checkmate DC with releasing so many trailer at the game.
Andres Muschietti (IT) will helm The Flash, and Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Batgirl) will pen the story. Additionally, it will feature the Bruce Wayne/Batman characters played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso in unspecified roles.
The Flash is slated for a theatrical release on June 23, 2023.
