Wonder Woman 3 was in a lot of dispute last year in December. Apparently there was a crack between long time collaborators- Patty Jenkins and Warner Bros. Discovery as the movie which Jenkins pitched was wildly different than what the studio had planned. There were also numerous reports that highlighted how the director was extremely difficult to deal with and stubborn about her vision. Naturally the studio cancelled Wonder Woman 3 altogether, this came as a shock because it was not clear what this meant for Gal Gadot as she was a fan favorite for her portrayal of the superhero. Many months have passed since this news. However, there was no response from Gal Gadot, however, she has now broken her silence and expressed reactions on the cancellation.
Wonder Woman 3 Cancellation Liberated Gal Gadot!
Gal Gadot did an interview with Total Film where she stated her reaction to Wonder Woman 3’s cancellation,“To me, starting and developing stories that I’m passionate about is an incredible thing. The fact that I don’t have to sit still at home and just wait for the next offer is something that makes me feel empowered. I enjoy doing it, it keeps me alive.”
The Israeli actress further added, “I’m not only going to do my own projects. I’m going to work as an actress-for-hire still. But the fact that I can go ahead and tell the stories that I’m passionate about – from ideas that I conceived, or from ideas that I find fascinating from people that want to partner with us – it’s an incredible thing.” Gadot concluded with,“[It’s] something that I’m so grateful for and I am definitely going to continue that because it’s worth it. I’m very, very excited and humbly proud.”
Gal Gadot had posted on Instagram that she is humbled about all the love from fans and she would like to bring Diana’s next chapter to life soon, “A few years ago it was announced that I was going to play Wonder Woman. I’ve been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I’m grateful for YOU. The fans. Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you.” Warner Bros. Discovery was interested to produce a third installment in Wonder Woman’s franchise but the project had to be done without Patty Jenkins (original director) as her vision didn’t go along with the studio’s plans.
