With just a few days left for its release, this is the perfect time to recap the leaks and summary for the film so you can decide upon whether to watch it on the big screen. Before we move forward, be warned that major spoilers to the film (courtesy of Reddit) follow below, so proceed at your own risk!
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Opening
The film opens as we see Janet running from Quantum Realm Xenomorphs and there she comes face to face Kang the Conqueror. She cleverly sense he’s a threat and that’s what kicks off the story and in present day she sense him again and calls the whole Ant-Family. There’s a montage of Scott narrating his life via an excerpt from his book “Looking Out For the Little Guy”. Scott talks about how happy he was to meet a raccoon that could talk, and says he’s friends with the Hulk. Talking about future adventures, Scott says that for the moment he’s just focused on being a dad.
Scott and Cassie reconnecting is a big part of the movie. Anyways, Scott/Cassie and Hope/Hank/Janet are separated into two groups after getting sucked into the Quantum Realm by Cassie’s device. Scott tries to calm Cassie down by saying being in the Quantum Realm is just like camping. We see a whole civilization living in the Quantum Realm. We see Hank and Janet surfing Giant Flying Stingrays. There’s a Quantum Realm Cantina bar with a bug man bartender.
Bill Murray’s King Krylar is a Quantum Realm aristocrat who’s hinted to have had a fling with Janet while she was stuck there. Some buildings appear to be alive in the Quantum Realm. Kang wants to take over the center of time so he plans on invading the Quantum Realm. What’s interesting here is that his second in command MODOK is played by Corey Stoll who played Yellowjacket in Ant-Man (2015). Apparently, he survived the events of Ant Man and has now joined hands with Kang as he wants revenge against Scott and Pym. MODOK is described as a Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing.
Kang the Conqueror and The Quantum Realm
We also get to know more of Kang’s backstory. Janet and Kang were both trapped in the Quantum Realm together in the past. He has a ship that can travel the multiverse. Janet and he were fixing it. He wanted to help her “fix time” so she could get her time back with Hope. Janet discovered he was evil via a neural connection he has with his ship. After confronting him and confirming his nature, she destroyed the equipment that made his ship work and trapped them both deeper in the Quantum Realm. Kang has been The Conqueror ever since. He’s been looking for Janet for revenge.
Kang tells Scott he has beaten the Avengers several times. Kang asks him if he’s the one with the hammer, and Scott makes a joke about people confusing him with Thor all the time. He wants Scott to help him get out of the Quantum Realm and says they should work together. Kang claims to be the only one who can stop what’s coming. When Scott asks who that is, Kang simply says “Me”. Ant man gets into the Quantum Nexus, where he meets several different versions of himself. There’s a Scott who’s just a Baskin Robbins employee in his universe and doesn’t understand what’s going on. Scott works with his multiversal selves against MODOK. He has an emotional moment with Cassie, saying he messed up a lot in his life, but she was the only thing he never did. He promises Cassie he’ll get her home. Also, there’s a running joke about everyone calling MODOK “Darren” and him hating it.
Moving on, Janet meets Kang once again and calls him by his name, Nathan. Kang tells Janet that she gave him a lot of time to plot his revenge by leaving him stranded in the Quantum Realm. He tells her that when he leaves, the first universe he’ll claim will be hers. Kang reveals he’s built an empire and says he’ll take it with him to conquer all the universes. Now before we tell you about the final battle, let’s talk about the superhero suits in the film for a moment. Scott gets an all-black suit while, Hope has “lightsaber” wings. Both black suits have red and yellow accents, respectively. Cassie also gets a suit, details of which are unknown as of now.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Final Battle and Ending
The final battle is huge and reminds viewers of the final battle from Aquaman, with all of its moving pieces. We see Giant Cassie fighting MODOK as she tries to talk him into switching sides. Giant Scott and Giant Cassie run to each other for a hug and he jokes about it feeling like he’s hugging Godzilla. Kang has a standoff with Scott, Hope, and Cassie as Hank flies in with a legion of battle-armored ants and they attack Kang. He manages to hold them off with his powers but then MODOK also shows up to help.
Kang fatally injures MODOK and the ant family goes to MODOK’s side as he dies. He rubs his tiny hand on Scott’s cheek and there’s an emotional moment where MODOK says Cassie was right about him and that he at least died an Avenger. Scott says he did a good job and agrees. Anyways, Kang survives the fight and stops Scott just as they are all about to go back to their universe. Janet, Hank, Cassie, and Hope manage to escape but Kang beats the crap out of Scott. Hope decides to come back for him and they almost manage to trap Kang in the Quantum Realm, but he escapes and traps Scott and Hope instead.
In the final few moments of the film, we see Hank guaranteeing Janet and Cassie that they’ll find them. Scott and Hope hug and he asks her why she came back. She tells him that it was because she saw all the other versions of herself too. The other lives she could have. She didn’t want to be in any of them that didn’t have him. Hope says to Scott that their family will be okay and that they have to trust them to find the duo. She says Cassie will know what to do. The final scene is set somewhat later in time and we see Cassie’s running all kinds of programs on different computers. As she’s staring at the screen, she sees something and her eyes go wide, she gasps, and the screen cuts to black. Now the ending might have been changed since this leak and we have received report of al alternate version which is mentioned below.
As for the post credits scenes, there will be two of them and you can check them out by clicking this link. That is pretty much it from the Ant Man 3 leaks. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is all set to release on February 17, 2023.
