Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

We all know about the dire situation that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is in. It all began with the negative reviews after the embargo was lifted and there just wasn’t anything Marvel could do to get the film back on track. It is still only the second Marvel movie to have a Rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film has been roasted for its weak CGI and there have been reports that the studio is at fault for that as they prioritized Black Panther: Wakanda Forever over the Ant-Man threequel when it came to resources in post production. Naturally, no one was expecting the film to open big at the box office, in retrospect the film earned a decent in the first week considering the negativity all around and the bad word of mouth. However, it wasn’t long till the film starts experiencing the heat about the negative reviews. Second week at the box office and the film has already experienced the second biggest drop for a MCU film on the box office.

The new release Cocaine Bear came dangerously close to take the #1 from the Ant-Man threequel, which would have been a shame for the MCU film. Cocaine Bear collected $23 million over the weekend which means that it will only be about $10 million shy of becoming the #1 film at the box office in the US. However, the Ant-Man threequel was beat by Cocaine Bear on Friday as it closed at $8.3 million that day, taking No. 2 just behind Cocaine Bear’s whopping $8.65 million.
