Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

2022’s last Marvel film that we’re getting is perhaps the best we could’ve wished for given the year that Marvel movies and TV shows have had – Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever. So naturally we were expecting there is a lot of buzz around the filming given the special circumstances of the film as well. Until some months back everyone at Marvel was lip-sealed about the film until we finally got a teaser trailer for the film and since then we’re just bracing ourselves for the spectacle that is about to come. The teaser was so emotional and handcrafted with love and care. A month later we got the official full length trailer of the film which was an explosive ride. It chucked out the somber and cerebral feel and tone of the teaser and went for a more action-heavy adventure with vivid colors.

Needless, to say both trailers were amazing and the film already looks way better than any Marvel content that we’ve gotten this year. I have full faith in Coogler to provide us with an emotional, heartbreaking, layered and old school Marvel film. Since the film was addressing T’Challa’s death and not recasting Chadwick Boseman, we all were wondering who will take the mantle of Black Panther of Wakanda. There were many theories surrounding the same, some even being as crazy as Shuri resurrecting Killmonger and him taking over as Black Panther as a threat looms over Wakanda. After weeks of anticipation, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had its world premiere today and critics have given their first reactions.

Critics Hail Black Panther: Wakanda Forever As The Best Marvel Film Since Endgame!

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has extremely positive first reactions however to be fair and honest every Marvel film in the recent time always has great first reactions but the films never turn out to be the same. However, my job is to get the latest updates to you whatever their nature maybe. The critics call Ryan Coogler’s new film another masterstroke and the best that Marvel Phase 4 has to offer. The performances from Letitia Wright, Angel Bassett, Tenoch Huerta and Lupita Nyong’o are praised. Following are the reactions for the same.

Orlando Maldonado
Rotten Tomatoes
“Wakanda Forever is outstanding. It handles loss, grief and revenge with a maturity and seriousness rarely seen in the MCU. Black Panther continues to be their crown jewel. Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett and Tenoch Huerta all bring some of the best acting I’ve seen all year.”

Kevin McCarthy

“WAKANDA FOREVER is a beautifully cathartic tribute to the legacy of Chadwick Boseman. Reminds us of his monumental impact & that he’s truly still here with is. Great performances from Gurira, Bassett, Wright & Thorne. Huerta was INCREDIBLE. Loved Rihanna’s song & Ludwig’s score.”

Charles Pulliam
Verge
“Wakanda Forever’s bigger in scope and scale than Black Panther, but its story is also one of Marvel’s most intimate and heartfelt. It’s definitely a Comic Book Movie, but it’s one that centers grief and the grieving process rather than superheroics and spectacle. Full review soon.”

Ryden Scarnato
Heroic Hollywood
“Black Panther: WakandaForever is a powerful film and a great tribute to Chadwick Boseman. There’s never been a CBM like it. Really strong performances all around too. Namor’s motivations were a little weak and I felt the runtime, but it’s still towards the top of Phase 4 for me.”

Brian Davids
The Hollywood Reporter
“Black Panther: WakandaForever is Marvel’s most poignant and powerful film to date. It’s heavy and dark in the way that it needed to be, and mostly abandons the studio’s trademark tone. The craft work levels up in every conceivable way, and the performances rise to the occasion.”

Fico Cangiano

“Wakanda Forever is fantastic! Coogler delivers a soulful, wondrous sequel that packs an emotional punch & effectively explores relevant world themes. A beautiful tribute to Boseman’s legacy. Letitia & Tenoch are great, & the mid-credits scene is really moving.”

Travis Hopson
Punch Drunk
“Wakanda Forever is exactly the cathartic experience I hoped it would be, helping us move past our grief while watching the Wakandans fight to do the same. The intro of Namor was incredible, the story bittersweet and packed with emotionally charged twists.”

Jack McBryan
The Direct
“Wakanda Forever is phenomenal. Easily the best MCU project of Phase 4. I can not understate how masterful the score is from start to finish. There are no weak links in the cast, but I have to give a special shoutout to Angela Basset and Letitia Wright who really blew me away.”

Sean O’ Connell
Cinema Blend
“Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: WakandaForever, above all else, is cathartic. An emotional movie about loss, legacy and healing. The story is intimate, but vast with global power struggles and palace intrigue. Tenoch Huerta’s Namor is a FORCE, better than I hoped. So much to discuss.”

Samuel Leggett Jr.
Film Critic
“Wakanda Forever is easily the best Marvel film since Avengers: Endgame. The scope, the camera work, the acting, and the raw emotions on and off screen can be felt throughout! This is the Marvel I’ve missed! I had one word in my heart all night; “WOW…”

Steven Weintraub
Collider
“I know you don’t believe when people come out of a world premiere and say a movie is awesome….but Black Panther: WakandaForever is a fantastic sequel and a great movie. I knew it’d be emotional and it was. Expect your eyes to leak. Great job Ryan Coogler”

Perri Nemiroff
Collider
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is excellent. An immensely powerful story of forging forward—shattering at times, but also beautifully cathartic and heartening. Cannot get over how well the film earns that title.” She continued in a second tweet, “Continues to be one of my favorite ensembles out there. M’Baku is still my #1, but Letitia Wright’s Shuri is quite the beating heart of this film. And Tenoch Huerta? They couldn’t have found a better Namor.”

Let me know what do you think of the first reactions Do you think Shuri is the new Black Panther? Which one do you prefer? Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated to release on 11th November 2022.
