The last Marvel film we’re getting this year is Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever. So naturally we were expecting there is a lot of buzz around the filming given the special circumstances of the film as well. We got our first trailer of the film and what a trailer it was! The trailer confirmed a lot of things we were suspecting. We official know that T’Challa is dead. The film would start from that point as Wakanda has no ruler. We also got our first glimpse at Namor and Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart. However, along with that we got the first hint at the new Black Panther. The emotional and amazing trailer ends with a brief shot of a new person in the Black Panther suit. In the background, the figure that is getting up from the ground looks like Namor.
So, who is the new Black Panther? Well, we still don’t know. Popular candidates include Shuri, Killmonger, Nakia and M’Baku. Well, you know what would help us in finding out the mystery? The new trailer of the film. Yes, Marvel has finally released the new trailer of the sequel after annoying us for a longtime and it is much more revealing than you’d expect.
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever Trailer Confirms Shuri as the Next Black Panther!
I’ll not waste your time here. The trailer is awesome but it is an extension of the teaser that we’d gotten in every way, shape or form. Although, I have to admit that I liked the teaser’s solemn tone better. I understand why this trailer was way more explosive as with its launch, the tickets went on sale as well and whatever we say at the end it is Marvel film so it has to have some traits that it can’t escape even if Ryan Coogler is directing it. However, I like how this trailer too tries to keep the film’s specifics under wraps.
They do give out more information but if you observe closely the information is once again that we already know. The film doesn’t explain its plot. It gives you an exhilarating episode which would make you watch the same thing again until you see the film itself. The VFX and production of the film looks good and in line with the original. The performances that stand-out are Angela Basset’s Queen Ramonda and Letitia Wright’s Shuri. The trailer also provides us a look at the new Ironheart armor.
She’ll be getting an armor that looks like the Hulkbuster but she has made it. However, the one thing that didn’t sit with me is the reveal at the end. The last shot of the teaser showed us a person in the Black Panther suit (Gold). There was no hint other then the brief shot. However, this trailer definitely takes a different route as it ends by revealing that Shuri is the next Black Panther. I mean not explicitly but there are hints as striking gold and black suit reminiscent of Killmonger’s costume from the first movie. Yet it’s much more feminine in physique, which seemingly confirms Shuri is the next Black Panther.
