Daredevil: Born Again is an upcoming Marvel TV show which is a reboot of the Netflix smash hit series called Daredevil. The Netflix show was an adaptation of Marvel comics and the events of the series vaguely related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, there was no crossover. As Marvel is expanding its wings in the Multiverse Saga, Daredevil is making a return to the MCU and so is Charlie Cox who portrayed the anti-hero in the Netflix show. Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Daredevil is list A Marvel casting along with RDJ as Iron Man and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Despite most of the original cast returning from the show, the Disney+ series would be a complete reboot. The cast that isn’t returning for the reboot is unknown but there is one character that has definitely been recast Marvel- Vanessa Fisk.
Daredevil: Born Again- Ayelet Zurer Isn’t Returning As Vanessa Fisk!
Most recently, we got an update about the Daredevil reboot that John Bernthal would be making a return as The Punisher. Fans were elated to hear this news as this means that we would see The Punisher and Daredevil on screen once again. However, that news was also accompanied with bad news as Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) were left off the call sheet, with many upset in the change in direction for the MCU reboot. These were some fan favorite actors for their respective roles.
I don’t understand why Marvel would want to recast them. Another major character from the Netflix show called Vanessa Fisk played Ayelete Zurer is being recast by Marvel. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Marvel Studios has cast Sandrine Holt in the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, playing the role of Vanessa Fisk. Zurer played Fisk in all three seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil. The call sheet also includes Michael Gandolfini and Margarita Levieva, whose roles are both being kept under wraps.
The report also stated that Michael Custa will direct the first episode of the reboot, however, it is unclear at this moment how many episodes would he direct. In January 2022, Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio expressed his wish to see Zurer return as Vanessa Fisk if Kingpin and Daredevil were ever to go into the MCU. It seems like Marvel has made it very clear that they don’t care for it.
Daredevil: Born Again will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from Spring 2024.
