The Daredevil series on Netflix has been one of the best TV shows from Marvel, even if the show’s events did not any have impact on the MCU. The thing that baffles me more than anything is the TV shows Marvel is churning out now, even if they’re part of the MCU are nothing in comparison to Daredevil. Charlie Cox as Daredevil was one of the best casting Marvel has made. It’s right up there with RDJ as Ironman. As Marvel is expanding they’re bringing a lot of old characters back, including Daredevil for a Disney+ show. I know we all yelled in joy when he appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home in a brief cameo. However, even in that brief cameo he caught a brick with his bare hand in front of Peter and Happy. That is basically giving up his identity.
His identity is something that he’d fought sweat and blood in the Netflix series. So, I’m not sure how Marvel is going forward with his portrayal. I just hope they do justice to the character. However, apart from these concerns there is one saving light that the entire cast from the original show is returning like Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. However, we didn’t know the fate of one character Claire Temple. Well, thanks to the actor who plays the character we have some updates on her potential return.
Is Rosario Dawson Returning as Claire Temple in the new Daredevil show?
Rosario Dawson who plays Claire Temple (Matt Murdock’s love interest) in the Daredevil series revealed while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter that there is still hope for Claire, “Oh yeah. For sure. You don’t even see her in that last “tell Claire to go home” moment on Luke Cage. So what is that? You know it’s terrible. So, yeah, I’d be super curious, but I’m just so stoked for everybody, though. It’s been a long time coming. I was really excited to know that all of our shows are actually part of the MCU now, with Charlie [Cox] and Vincent [D’Onofrio] coming over into these different projects now. So, yeah, 18 episodes [of Daredevil: Born Again]? I’m there! Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, they know where I am.”
While Dawson didn’t or rather couldn’t provide us with a proper answer but her answer certainly tells us that as all the original series characters and actors are there is definitely as possibility that we’ll see Claire Temple back in the Daredevil world after a very long time. We still don’t have an update on whether the series will be TV-MA or like other Marvel shows it would be PG-13. However, based on the updates regarding the Blade movie, I don’t think Marvel is making adult content anytime soon.
The first three seasons of the Netflix Daredevil series are currently streaming on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again is expected to start streaming on Disney+ in Spring of 2024.
