The Daredevil series on Netflix has been one of the best TV shows from Marvel, even if the show’s events did not any have impact on the MCU. The thing that baffles me more than anything is the TV shows Marvel is churning out now, even if they’re part of the MCU are nothing in comparison to Daredevil. Charlie Cox as Daredevil was one of the best casting Marvel has made. It’s right up there with RDJ as Ironman. As Marvel is expanding they’re bringing a lot of old characters back, including Daredevil for a Disney+ shows. However, I’m concerned about it. Will Disney allow Marvel to make a TV-MA or will it be a PG-13 mess like the other Marvel shows?
Apart from this, my concerns include the portrayal of Daredevil in the MCU as until now its been pretty bad. We all yelled in joy when he appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home in a brief cameo. However, even in that brief cameo he caught a brick with his bare hand in front of Peter and Happy. That is basically giving up his identity. His identity is something that he’d fought sweat and blood in the Netflix series. So, I’m not sure how Marvel is going forward with his portrayal. I just hope they do justice to the character.
Will Daredevil Be A Part of Disney+ Adult Oriented Content?
Marvel announced at SDCC’22 that they’re giving Daredevil his own series titled Daredevil: Born Again. The show will be an 18 episode event. This is amazing news but the one thing that fans are concerned about is, will the show have a similar tone to the Netflix series. It is a valid concern seeing that Moon Knight was PG-13 and Blade is supposed to PG-13 as well. Seems like Marvel is preferring catering to a wider audience rather than focusing on the core nature of these characters.
Considering how Kingpin was simply a joke at the end of Hawkeye, I’m not sure Marvel will allow Daredevil to be the same. A glimmer of hope for Marvel fans is that the Marvel animation team has revealed Marvel Zombies will be Disney+’s first TV-MA show. A TV-MA rating is an equivalent to a R-rating for a movie. Deadpool 3 which is coming in the future is definitely going to be R-rated. So, it looks like Disney+ is not just acquiring R-rated films like Deadpool and Logan but rather produce adult-oriented content as well.

they kinda have no excuse not to give daredevil a tv-ma rating now. might as well if you want to preserve the tone and feel of the netflix show.

I hope it’s TV-MA like Marvel Zombies especially since they just added Logan and Deadpool 1&2 https://t.co/qMonLlRPSC
