A month ago, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman announced Deadpool 3 and Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine knocked the hats off everyone’s heads. The Deadpool franchise under Fox was thriving very well too. The first movie was a major success financially and critically, while the second film was the highest grossing R-Rated movie ever before being dethroned by Todd Phillips’ Joker. Jackman’s return shocked everyone as we were all expecting Reynolds to reprise his role as Deadpool in the MCU but no one thought Jackman would reprise his long running role of Wolverine ever again especially after sternly announcing his retirement from the character before Logan after he had already played the character for over 17 years. Despite the actors’ reprising their roles how they will be inculcated in the MCU remains a mystery.

However, it seems like Hugh Jackman might have just slipped us some vital information that can give us an idea how Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will be added to the MCU without ruining their respective arcs in the Fox universe.

Deadpool 3: Which Time Travel Device Is Hugh Jackman talking about?

Hugh Jackman in his recent appearance at SiriusXM with Radio Andy talked about his return as Wolverine. Jackman in this interview mentioned how Marvel plans to bring into their MCU where he mentioned a time travel device, “But then I just put it aside and I was like, ‘No, no I’m done.’ And then we made ‘Logan’ and I was super happy with it. But all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines now we can go back, because, you know, it’s science. And so I don’t have to screw with the ‘Logan’ timeline which was important to me, and I think probably to the fans too.”

Jackman also stressed upon the reason for his return as Wolverine despite announcing his retirement from the character. The actor reportedly felt that there is something he hadn’t done with the character and wanted to try it, “If I’m really honest, I’d announced ‘Logan’ was my last and then I went to see the ‘Deadpool’ movie and I was 20 minutes in and I was like, ‘Curses!’ All I could see that whole movies was – first of all I loved the movie – but all I could see was Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in ’48 Hours’. And I was like ‘This is something I haven’t done with the character. That’s the kind of dynamic we haven’t had before.”

Deadpool 3 is slated to release on 6th September 2024 in MCU’s Phase 6.
