In 2016 Deadpool was released and despite it being R-Rated it was a box office juggernaut. With great critical reception and an amazing box office run it was natural that a sequel was happening. Deadpool 2 came out in 2018 and was a success again. It was not as good as the first film but it was not a disappointment. It was going great until Disney acquired Fox, which was great news as now the MCU would have all their heavy hitters. The problem was that this put the Deadpool franchise in danger of a reboot and an actor change. However, Marvel had clarified a long time ago that they won’t reboot the Deadpool movies and won’t replace as Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. This meant that Marvel would have to find a creative and seamless way to bring Deadpool 3 into the MCU.
While the updates regarding the film have been sparse we knew that the film is coming soon. After Marvel, skipped announcing absolutely anything about the film at D23 Expo and San Diego Comic Con, they’ve spilled out some information later on. A month ago, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman announced Deadpool 3 and Jackman’s return knocked the hats off fans’ heads. Anyways, today we have some more exciting information for you guys!
Deadpool 3: A Female Villain?
A rumor has surfaced as a casting call reportedly from Marvel has been leaked. According to Insider, the description of the role is, “FEMALE VILLAIN” aged in her 30s, 40s, or 50s. This female adversary is reportedly a “lead” who is “a foe to Deadpool and Wolverine.” However, along with this there is another call that requires a “MALE LEAD” who is Black Indigenous Persons of Color. He would be a” leading man but not a suit.” They “want a strong actor… who could also do comedy.” The grid added that this character “will have scenes with Ryan [Reynolds] and Hugh [Jackman].”
Based on the description of the female lead required, there are a few possibilities who could appear in the film. First – Danger. This is due to the announcement video of Deadpool 3 saw Ryan Reynolds holding a comic book that features this character pretty visibily. So, the possibility of her appearing is very high. Moving on, a new report suggested that Mobius played by Owen Wilson would also appear in the film which suggests that the film will deal with the TVA and hence, will have some kind of multi-versal adventure. This also opens up the possibility of Lady Deadpool appearing as the villain however it is quite less, especially compared to Danger.
In Marvel Comics, Danger Room (also known as Danger) is the physical manifestation of the software program used to power the Danger Room, the training room for the X-Men. The Danger Room was created by Charles Xavier to train his X-Men daily. She has proven herself a powerful ally of the X-Men but time and again, she has proven herself to be a fearful foe as well. As for Lady Deadpool, her chances are less but there’s no harm in knowing a thing or two about her. She is a female counterpart of Deadpool from the alternate reality Earth-3010, named Wanda Wilson. Now who actually turns out to be the antagonist remains to be seen.
Deadpool 3 is slated to release on 6th September 2024 in MCU’s Phase 6.
