Echo Marvel Show Might Be In Trouble
Echo is an upcoming Marvel show that will start streaming on Disney from next year. The show will focus on Echo aka Maya Lopez who is the adoptive daughter of the Marvel villain Kingpin. The character made her MCU debut in the Disney+ show Hawkeye that came out last year. The show focused on Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton being a mentor to Kate Bishop and allowing her to take the reigns from her. Bishop will also be a part of or possibly lead the Young Avengers. As Echo appeared in the show who has a direct connection to Kingpin Marvel was not missing out on the opportunity to officially introduce Kingpin in the MCU. You can say that Kingpin was the main villain of the show. However, his adoptive daughter is on the side of his opposition, similar to the comics where she was on the side of Daredevil. The success of the show paved the way for Maya Lopez played by Alqua Cox to get a spin off series for herself.

The official synopsis of the show show given by Disney is, “The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.” However, while we’re all controlling out excitement about the show and whether we’ll see Daredevil there? The show has received some major bad news.

Echo Facing Production Issues?

Just as we were hearing the news that Echo’s production has kickstarted and the filming is being completed rapidly, we have gotten a really serious bad news for Marvel fans. A very reliable source has mentioned today that the show is facing major production issues and while this is something that we’ve heard about other Marvel projects, this appears to be more legit and concerning. Lizzie Hill from Cosmic Circus recently tweeted that while she is not sure but there is a lot of behind the scenes drama going on that threatens to pause the production.

Hill stated, “I’ve been hearing things lately, from previously reliable sources, that make me very very concerned about Echo. Previous Marvel [productions] have been reported to have problems but have come out ok, so I generally don’t get that concerned, but… I am concerned. Hoping I’m wrong to be.”

As another fan mentioned how there were disturbing reports for earlier series that turned out fine, Hill admitted that “[she] sincerely hope this one comes out and it’s fine too.” As answer to another message asking to her open up about more details, she clearly stated that there was “nothing [she’s] going to report here right now. No.”

However, Hill didn’t leave us on a cliffhanger where we feel cheated and she tweets another thing that clears what is going on with Echo. She said, “Some clarification, tho[ugh] I still can’t be too specific [right now], sorry, but my understanding is the issues I’m hearing about (and others) with Echo are with the production itself. Not the character, actress, or even the Daredevil/Kingpin stuff.”

Marvel’s Echo will start streaming on Disney+ in 2023.
