Echo Marvel TV Series Daredevil and Kingpin Leaked to Return
Marvel’s Echo is an upcoming Marvel show that will start streaming on Disney from next year. The show will focus on Echo aka Maya Lopez who is the adoptive daughter of the Marvel villain Kingpin. The character made her MCU debut in the Disney+ show Hawkeye that came out last year. The show focused on Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton being a mentor to Kate Bishop and allowing her to take the reigns from her. Bishop will also be a part of or possibly lead the Young Avengers. As ECHO appeared in the show who has a direct connection to Kingpin Marvel was not missing out on the opportunity to officially introduce Kingpin in the MCU. You can say that Kingpin was the main villain of the show. However, his adoptive daughter is on the side of his opposition, similar to the comics where she was on the side of Daredevil.
The success of the show paved the way for Maya Lopez played by Alqua Cox to get a spin off series for herself. The official synopsis of the show show given by Disney is, “The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.” However, while we’re all controlling out excitement about the show and whether we’ll see Daredevil there? The show has been receiving some major bad news for a while but today for a change we have a positive update regarding the show.

Marvel’s ECHO Finally Back On Track?

Echo Plot Leaks Confirm Daredevil and Jon Bernthal's Punisher in MCU!

Marvel Studios VP of Development and Production Stephen Broussard spoke to Collider and shared a positive update on the much delayed Marvel show- Echo. Along with sharing positive news about the show, Broussard also spoke about how different the show is from the broad horizon of the MCU, he called it spiritual and praised the lead actress of the series Alqua Cox’s performance.
Broussard said, “[Production on ‘Echo’] is going well. It’s very different. Like, talking about Werewolf by Night to this. It’s a very different tonal sort of thing. I don’t want to say too much because there’s not a whole lot out there in the world, but it feels very grounded, it feels very spiritual in ways that feel fresh for us. Alaqua as the lead is incredibly compelling. I’m sort of hard-pressed to think of something that it feels like outside in the broader realm of the MCU, let alone within what we’ve done here. So stay tuned on that really cool stuff.”

Broussard concluded with, “It’s always about embracing whatever it is, right? Like embracing a Universal Hammer Horror film, kind of leaning into that and, I think leaning into what’s unique about any viewing property. What’s unique about this property is that it’s much more grounded, and it’s in rural Oklahoma, which is where it takes place. So it’s fun, and it’s been an amazing teamwork, and working with that team behind the scenes.”

Marvel’s Echo is supposed to start streaming on Disney+ sometime in 2024.
