I think we’re soon going to get an official casting decision from Marvel Studios for the 2025 Fantastic Four reboot. For the past some days, we’ve been getting a lot of updates about the casting calls for the reboot. Be it the Marvel’s decision to gender swap the Thing or Adam Driver almost confirmed as Reed Richards. Just yesterday, we got the biggest update of all- reportedly Margot Robbie has been offered the role of Sue Storm. Whether she’ll accept the offer or not is something that has to be seen. This morning another huge news about the reboot was reported. Apparently, Hollywood legend Denzel Washington was offered a huge role by Marvel Studios in the Fantastic Four reboot. However, Denzel rejected it. Which role was it? Well, I think we can all guess that.
Fantastic Four: Denzel Washington Refused To Be Galactus?
Marvel is really looking to get some serious star power for their Fantastic Four iteration. Be it the scouting of talented actors like Adam Driver, Margot Robbie and even Paul Mescal for the Human Torch tells us the kind of talent Marvel is in search for the reboot. Reportedly, Marvel Studios also offered the role of Galactus to Denzel Washington. Industry insider, Grace Randolph reported that the Hollywood legend reportedly refused the offer from Marvel.
An actor of Denzel’s capacity could’ve really brought Galactus to life. However, he has refused to play the iconic Marvel villain in the Matt Shakman’s directorial venture. A separate rumor from scooper MyTimeToShine also stated that Marvel Studios is in talks with Antonio Banderas to play the world-devourer to the big screen. Please note that, Grace Randolph’s record as a scooper has been a hit or miss. So, this news about Denzel should be strictly taken as a rumor. Neither Marvel nor Disney commented on either rumor.
The Fantastic Four reboot is slated to release in theatres on 14th February 2025.
