Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 - Will Rocket Raccoon Die In the Film

Guardians of the Galaxy was a surprise hit for Marvel when it came back in 2014. Not just that, it still remains one of the best MCU films ever made with a lot of heart, humor, and badass moments. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 followed the footsteps of Vol. 1 and once again presented a refined piece of superhero cinema. The franchise has gathered millions of fans and everyone is quite excited for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Although, they all appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, their portrayal wasn’t as iconic as in their own movies. So, it’s finally time to gear up for a new adventure and this adventure would mark the introduction of one of the strongest Marvel characters there is – Adam Warlock. But at the same time, it will also mark the end of certain beloved characters and that is exactly what we are going to talk about today.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 – Rocket Raccoon in Front and Center of the Plot

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 New Trailer Broke A Major Record!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 or GOTG3 is now just a month away and the marketing efforts will now be on the peak. The movie is the signing off film for director James Gunn as well as most of the original cast of the film including Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt, and Zoe Saldana. No no, don’t worry all of them are not going to die but might instead retire or part ways. That said, some of them are going to die and James Gunn has been pretty clear about that. The ending to such an emotional journey is bound to make you cry some happy as well as some sad tears. One thing that is driving fans crazy is that the recent marketing efforts by the film have been too Rocket centric and fans fear the film isn’t gonna end well for him.

Well, for those fans, we have some news. The information we are about to share is based on the plot leaks of the film which have been confirmed by multiple sources which have mostly been right in the past. So, considering that you are here, we assume that you are going to be okay with some mild spoilers regarding the film. If not, then turn back right now as this is not just a fan theory but a full blown spoiler for the film and its main plot. Once again, SPOILER WARNING now in effect.

Ok, so as per leaks about the film and the future of the Guardians, no, Rocket Raccoon will not die at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Instead he will end up leading the new team of Guardians in the future Marvel projects. This makes sense as Rocket Raccoon and Groot are probably the most popular character among all Guardians and without them, this franchise is basically a bunch of space Avengers. But that doesn’t mean the film will go easy on him as he will suffer a fatal injury at the hands of Adam Warlock during the first act of the film.

This is what will kick off the rest of the film, as  The Guardians will not be able heal him because of his special DNA. So, they’ll need to go to the Counter-Earth (a huge ship that looks like a planet inside ) to infiltrate the High Evolutionary’s lab and obtain a cure for Rocket because it was he who created the Rocket, and only he knows how to cure him. This is where we’ll explore his past and meet his lover Layla. So, yeah, be rest assured that Rocket Raccoon will ultimately survive the film and later lead whatever would be left of them towards the end. As for a hint to who will die in the film, its going to be the member you expect to die the most.

Anyways, it is abundantly clear that this installment will have Rocket Raccoon as in heart and that is why he is in front and center in all the recent posters. The movie has been shaped around him and the highly anticipated character of Adam Warlock, who as you know from comics will ultimately join them and the Avengers one day. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is all set to release on May 5, 2023!
