I am Groot is an extension of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise in Marvel. The spin-off will feature Groot in the center stage. The 5-episode series is directed by Kirsten Lepore and you can watch the trailer here.. The show will our cutest GOTG member voiced by Vin Diesel, after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1 where he sacrifices himself in order to save his friends. However, we see that the tree sentient is starting to grow back from a twig. He becomes a sapling in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and then throughout the film he grows into a teenager, we see this same version of him in Avengers: Infinity War as well.
The “tree” can survive only by saying the words “I am Groot” and the true meaning of these words can be only understood by his friend and partner in crime- Rocket Racoon. The show will feature some of the off-screen adventures that the character enjoyed between the events of Vol. 1 & Vol. 2. Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper are reprising their roles as cash machine and Rocket Racoon respectively. This show isn’t part of the grand scheme of things leading up to the two Avengers films in 2025 but it is definitely a fun addition to the fans who are waiting for more Guardians of the Galaxy content. Just today we have early reviews of the pre-screenings Marvel has held for some critics.

'I Am Groot' is the perfect vehicle for Baby Groot to shine. Proving once again what we love about him: he brings a little chaos everywhere he goes. Short, sassy, and sweet: your whole family will love this series- especially #4. On Disney+ August 10 #IAmGroot #disneyplus pic.twitter.com/EtPTJ6mu6q

#IAmGroot? More like "cute," because Disney+'s Groot shorts are delightful little snippets featuring everyone's favorite mono-phrased tree alien. The comedy is surprisingly dark, though still family friendly, and often feels like lost bits from the Guardians movies. Two Groots up pic.twitter.com/JbIZYAPlr3

Just watched #IAmGroot and I can already tell my niece is going to watch this thing no less than 200 times.
So much fun. So fun to look at. And who doesn't love Baby Groot?
People forget that Baby Groot walked to Baby Yoda could run.

Seeing the overwhelmingly positive response from these reviewers, we can expect the show to be good. We will finally have a Marvel show in a longtime that will be an interesting watch. Hopefully the show is as good as they make us believe.
The show will available to stream on Disney+ from 10th August 2022.
