Marvel’s Phase 4 is almost at its end and unlike the previous film we’re aren’t quite sure where is everything headed towards or where does it connect, what is the Endgame? With Phase 5 just about to start, it is rumored that the next Phase will kickstart the new Secret Wars Saga for Marvel. While the first Saga that was called the Infinity Saga that spanned across 23 movies. It started with 2008’s Iron Man and ended with Avengers: Endgame’s grand conclusion followed by Spider-Man: Far from Home but now the landscape is different. As Marvel spreads its wings to TV series along with movies it has opened up the entire Multiverse for us. With the Loki series, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness it is clear that the Multiverse is here to stay. Amidst all these Kevin Feige might’ve teased the upcoming Saga.
Kevin Feige Teases Secret Wars
In a recent appearance at a promotional event, Feige was asked about Marvel’s future and the story of Phase 4 seeming to be disjointed in a way. “As we’re nearing the end of Phase 4, I think people will start to see where this next saga is going,” Feige told Total Film. “I think there have been many clues already, that are at least apparent to me, of where this whole saga is going. We’ll be a little more direct about that in the coming months, to set a plan, so audiences who want to see the bigger picture can see a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more of the roadmap.”
The clues he was referring to I believe were about Kang the Conqueror appearing in the Loki Series who is all set to reappear in Antman and the Wasp: Quantomania. The rumored Secret Wars is based on the 2015 comic of the same name. The comic’s story focuses on a Multiversal war and events called as Incursions (This was referred to in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) that threatens the destruction of entire universes. With Kang already have made an appearance in the MCU and all set to appear again it is only inevitable that everything culminates with Secret Wars.
That being said, Marvel will have an appearance in the San Diego Comic-Con 2022 but Marvel is known to reserve all their major announcements for Disney’s D23, a bi-annual event that is slated on 10th September 2022. We hope to get more updates there.
Till the let me know what you think of this, do you think Secret Wars will be the next Saga? Check out Marvel’s newest TV shows like Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight on Disney+ and catch Thor: Love and Thunder in theatres on 7th July 2022.
