After the extremely popular Infinity Saga which lasted 3 phases, Marvel is still struggling left and right even after reaching Phase 5. Calling MCU Phase 4 disappointing would be an understatement and Phase 5 projects like Ant-man 3, Secret Invasion, and The Marvels have totally wrecked fans’ faith in Marvel. However, Loki Season 2 has somehow managed to be the best MCU Disney Plus production since Loki Season 1 itself. And though it has tons of flaws, plot holes, and unexplained power-ups, it sure was visually captivating, showcased gripping subplots, and established a grander MCU narrative. So, it makes a lot of sense for Marvel Studios to be interested in promoting Loki’s crew to more prestigious projects like Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Loki Creator Reportedly Hired For Avengers: Kang Dynasty
Marvel has been in damage control mode ever since Jonathan Majors and Tenoch Huerta faced criminal accusations. The biggest question that is bugging Marvel fans was what will happen to Jonathan Major’s Kang if Marvel decides to completely fire him from every project. The project that would be most impacted would be the upcoming MCU mega event aka Avengers: Kang Dynasty which literally features Kang in its title itself. Fans do have certain theories about how Doom may turn out to be the main villain, or how Kang variants don’t necessarily need to look like Majors. Anyways, one thing is quite clear, there will have to be some major re-writes and they need someone capable enough to handle the grand mulitversal narrative.
Well, who’d be a better person for that job that the creator of the multiversal epic Loki series. Variety and other credible sources reported that “Loki” creator Michael Waldron has been hired to write the screenplay for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Apparently, he’s also already on board to pen the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars as well, which will conclude the Multiverse Saga. This is certainly a good news for the fans as they have been utterly impressed with Loki Season 2 and believe this is the man for the job.
As you may know, at the end of Loki season 2, choosing to give the multiverse a chance rather than letting He Who Remains control it, Loki destroyed the Loom. This resulted in infinite amount of branches of realities spread out, however, Sylvie noticed how every single branch now seemed to be dying. Somehow Loki was able to revive all the branches, walk among them like God, and then sit on a throne holding the multiverse together. This basically opened the door to MCU multiverse and now owing to Loki’s sacrifice, we’ll be able to see everything Marvel ever made come together in Phase 5 and Phase 6. So, concluding a grand narrative like this requires an in-depth knowledge of the MCU multiverse, and Waldron is well equipped with that knowledge.
Aside from the titles and now the writer, nothing official is known about Avengers 5 and 6. Everything else you have heard so far is pure speculation, rumor, or leak. To know absolutely everything about MCU, make sure to keep up with our updates!
