Loki is one of the rare shows on TV that has not been postponed to next year due to the strikes. It is also probably the only MCU Disney Plus series which most fans agree being good. Most other MCU shows have struggled to impress fans and critics alike and their past two series namely She-Hulk and Secret Invasion have been outrightly bad. So, a lot rides on Loki Season 2’s success both for Marvel television’s future as well as MCU as a whole. Good thing is that Episode 1 ad 2 proved that it is still the same show we all adored so much and now that episode 3 of Loki is all set to debut in barely two days, everyone is pumped up for it. If you cannot control your excitement anymore, we have some major potential spoilers for the episode mentioned below. Read on at your own risk.
Loki Season 2 Episode 3 Spoilers and Summary
- Duration – 53 Min
- Directed By – Kasra Farahani
- Written by – Eric Martin and Kasra Farahani & Jason O’Leary
Loki Season 2 Episode 3 begins as the duo travels to 1893 Chicago to visit the World’s Columbian Exposition (a real life fair that celebrated the 400 year anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the Americas). There, they plan to hunt down Victor Timely, one of Kang’s variants, who has set up a presentation to showcase one of his inventions at the fair. The fair will be an Easter Egg Hunt for die-hard Marvel fans as we will get to see various references to comic book characters who lived during that era. At the same time, we will get to follow Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes who also happen to be at the fair, possibly looking for Timely as well.
Eventually, there will be a chase scene involving Loki, Mobius, Miss Minutes and Victor Timely, but we don’t know how it will conclude or how the episode will end. The trailer shows scenes mostly from the first 3 episodes as well, so there’s not much we can surmise for how the season will progress. In general though, this season will involve Loki and Mobius going to various times and places and in various branched timelines with each episode focusing on an adventure in a different location in the Multiverse. This was Michael Waldron’s original pitch for the show back in 2019, but it was scrapped because the show could not perform a lot of outdoors filming during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finally, it is unclear if this is an early-season or a late-season (twist) reveal, but the main villain of the show, who is also the leader of the rogue TVA agents and is behind all the timeline pruning, is an older Sylvie, played by Kate Dickie. She has taken over the Citadel and is doing HWR’s previous job because she feels guilty for her actions. This is one of our Sylvie’s potential futures who is also currently doubting herself on whether she did the right thing, so she will have to confront her future and choose whether she wants to follow her destiny and become like her older self or if she will stay true to what she believes in and let the Multiverse prosper.
