The second season of Marvel’s Loki is back, amidst all the postponements that other Marvel shows are seeing because of the Disney calendar reshuffle. The Tom Hiddleston starrer will be streaming on Disney+ from October 6, and is one of the very few survivors that did not get shelved or put away for later release by Disney, unlike Agatha : Darkhold Diaries and Echo. Will Jonathan Majors Return To The MCU?
One of the major questions viewers had for the show was regarding the presence of Kang The Conqueror, considering the current situation of things surrounding Jonathan Majors. The actor had been in one of the most successful periods of his career following the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III, until assault and harassment allegations surfaced against him. The actor had his trial scheduled on September 6, and a lot of his career trajectory depends on the outcome of the trial.
Well, there is an answer to that question — or some form of it. While Majors features in a brief appearance in the first look of the show, it also indicates a bigger role for Victor Timely, who is another of Kang’s variants. As the MCU heads towards Avengers : The Kang Dynasty, the character is supposed to assume a pivotal role. Majors made his debut in the first season as He Who Remains, the one killed by Sylvie, teasing the arrival of the other variants of characters.
The official overview of season 2 reads, “Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous Multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.”
As Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as the God of Mischief who gets sucked into multiverse mayhem, so will Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie along with Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Eugene Cordero as Casey, and Tara Strong as Miss Minutes. The show will also feature Academy Award winning actor Ke Huy Quan, who will play Ouroboros or O.B. another TVA agent who is in charge of supervision of the TVA technology.
