Marvel had big plans for 2023 as they revealed to us in their slate at San Diego Comic Con 2022, owing to their new philosophy of producing as much content possible, the studio had many film releases in the theatres as well TV shows lined for debut on Disney+. What happened was unfortunate as most of the TV shows and movies faced production issues which led to them getting more and more delayed. At least four Disney+ shows that were supposed to come out in 2023 are now delayed. This is what happens when greed takes over. Regardless, one of the shows that wasn’t cancelled and has fans actually hyped about it is Loki Season 2. However, for something releasing in 2023 Summer, it is weird that we haven’t gotten a release date, trailer or frankly anything. So is it delayed?
Loki Season 2 Is Delayed! Just A Little!
There have been insiders who have been whispering that Loki Season 2 won’t be releasing in the nebulous summer release date that Marvel had previously given to the show. In fact the sequel season would be returning much later in the summer of 2023. Bespin Bulletin was the first one to report this that Loki Season 2 will release in late summer, which means that the debut date of the show would be sometime between August and September. This update has not been confirmed by Disney+ or Marvel Studios.
The same outlet also revealed the new Star Wars show Ahsoka will release after Loki Season 2 and Secret Invasion. Which in turn means that the release date for the show is likely to be Fall 2023, with a first trailer for Ahsoka coming at Star Wars Celebration this April. It is very peculiar that Secret Invasion’s final trailer hasn’t been release despite it being slated to release before Loki. Other shows from Marvel don’t release dates yet and are facing year long delays because of the company’s internal shake-ups.
Currently, delays to 2024 are looking likely for Ironheart, Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos. However, one of Marvel’s Disney+ series is still reportedly set for a release this year: X-Men ’97. However, no update has been offered for X-Men ’97 and it would most likely be delayed just like the other shows.
Loki Season 2 is slated on release on Disney+ in mid-2023. Season 1 is available for streaming.
