Think about it when you have rights to one of the most loved Superheroes of all time, that is an asset you use carefully. It took a little for Sony to grasp this concept but I think now they’ve realized it. They’re making sure they don’t waste these rights. They’ve decided to go deep in the Spider-Man mythos. They’re creating a number of Spider-Man spin offs of other characters as they’ve realized they can’t create a decent Spider-Man flick. So Marvel is using Spider-Man in the MCU but Sony is distributing the movie and enjoying the profits. This is Sony’s dream come true. They’ve created their own universe of Spider-Man Spin offs. It kicked off with 2018’s Venom followed by Venom: Let there be Carnage, Morbius, Kraven the Hunter and the latest being Madame Web. Kraven the Hunter is slated to release six months prior to Madame Web on 13th January 2023.
The latest addition to the cast of the Madame Web film was Adam Scott. As the film’s production has been going on for a while now and we currently don’t have any idea about the plot of the film or who’s is playing which character. Except for Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web who looks like she will based on Julia Carpenter in the comics based on the set photos we got last month. The recent updates we got from the film was Adam Scott’s first look that was leaked. That was three months earlier. After that we got a leaked set video of an action scene the movie last month. Although, today…today we have something really interesting. It is Dakota Johnson in White Hair. No she is not playing a Targaryen, let’s see why the white hair?
Why is Dakota Johnson has a White hair in Madame Web?
Twitter user @DakotaJBRA posted Dakota Johnson sporting white hair under a hood on the set of Madame Web. On Instagram, @atlanta_filming – who’s responsible for taking these photos – confirmed “that is Dakota Johnson as Madame Web“ in a reply on the post. The set photos that we’d previously gotten show Dakota Johnson in dark hair at a young age or at some point in the film as well as the fact that the film will depict the early 2000s.

After seeing this you might ask why is Dakota Johnson sporting white hair in the film. Well, here’s answer.
Yes, Madame Web’s comic accurate look has white hair. So, it seems like after being a normal person having dark hair, we will see Madame Web in her white hair at some point in the film. Although, given in the comics numerous individuals have held the title of Madame Web, it’s unknown which route Sony Pictures will be taking with the character or how true to the comics the studio intends to be. Then again, the hair change is significant and it may explain why the film is set in the past.
I think the white hair is how Madame Web looks now in this present point of both the MCU and Sony’s Spider-Verse? So, I think the film will not even show the origin story of the character but also its effects and maybe other Spider-Men as well?
Madame Web was created by late writer Dennis O’Neil. The original Madame Web — real name Cassandra Webb — first appeared in 1980’s Amazing Spider-Man #210. The mantle of Madame Web was later taken up by Julia Carpenter, who is perhaps best known for being the second Spider-Woman. Created by Jim Shooter and Mike Zeck, Julia first appeared as Spider-Woman as part of the Secret Wars limited series in 1984. Julia became Madame Web in 2010’s Amazing Spider-Man #637 following the death of Cassandra Webb.
The film stars Dakota Johnson, as well as fellow co-stars Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim Emma Roberts and most recently Severance’s star Adam Scott. The film is to be directed by S.J. Clarkson and the screenplay of the film is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, with a previous draft having been penned by Kerem Sanga.
Madame Web is slated to release on 16th February 2024.
