Marvel Most Popular MCU Movies On Disney Plus!

The world has changed, digitalization of practically every field has been done, including movies. Disney Plus is the streaming platform for Disney which has most of everything that the company owns. As Marvel is owned by Disney every Marvel content eventually lands up on Disney+ if you’re patient enough. This means that you no longer have to experience Marvel movies in theatres, you can enjoy them sitting on your comfy sofa at you house. The platform was launched in 2019 and given the convenient pandemic that struck humanity next year, the streaming giant’s user base grew bigger and bigger. As 2022 has come to a close and while it may not have been a great year for Marvel, it was a great for cinema, let’s take a look at all the MCU movies that were popular on the platform in December 2022:

6) Marvel ‘s Eternals

Eternals was not a well received film, despite being directed by Oscar winning Writer & Director Chloe Zhao. The film has tonal issues and its vision was pulled in two directions, one was Zhao’s intimate and mature take on humanity while the other was Marvel’s spectacle over story formula. Despite being one of the worst MCU movies, Eternals has managed to be popular amongst fans as it generated 26 times its average demand. The popularity of the film is likely as fans are revisiting all Phase 4 films that they missed.

5) Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War is one of the best MCU made to date in fact I would even place it above of Endgame. It seems like many people like me are reminiscing the old Marvel movies which we enjoyed to our cores, unlike the lackluster VFX heavy directionless ventures we see now. Infinity War is still popular amongst fans simply because of its quality and a bit of nostalgia to the time where Marvel mattered. The film had 29 times of its average demand in December 2022.

4) Marvel Studios Deadpool

This was the only non- MCU Marvel movie which made into this list. This tells us how much fans love Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. The film is also the seventh most watched film on Disney+ along with being the fourth most watched Marvel film. The film dropped on the platform back in July, coupled with the announcement of the new Deadpool movie with Hugh Jackman and all the shenanigans with it, the popularity of the Ryan Reynold starrer increased by 31.02 of its usual demand.

3) Avengers: Endgame

If there is Infinity War on the list then Endgame has to be as well. The biggest MCU movie of all and the second biggest movie ever, that is if Avatar: The Way of Water doesn’t beat it. I don’t think Marvel will ever see this amount of overwhelming success ever again. The heart that this film packs is immense. Something that all Marvel fans are missing. To be so absorbed in a narrative which has teased you for 11 years and then witnessing its concluding chapter is so satisfying. This is satisfaction is being enjoyed by many fans as the film is 31.18 times more popular than its usual demand.

2) Marvel ‘s Thor: Love and Thunder

Surprise, surprise. You didn’t expect this one to be there did you? Well, like Eternals this is another surprise on this list. However, I would consider Eternals a much better product than this. This is honestly in my opinion the worst Marvel film ever made. This is an opinion of a lot of people, which reflected in the box office performance of the film. As many people didn’t see the film in theatres due to the barrage of bad reviews, everyone is catching up with the God of Thunder on Disney+. The film also happens to be the newest Marvel release on Disney+ which is why its viewership was 34.13 times the average.

1) Marvel ‘s Black Panther

This is a wonderful surprise. The most watched MCU film in December 2022 was the 2018’s Black Panther. The film was also the second most watched film overall on the platform behind 2009’s Avatar. The influx in numbers of the movie is because of the sequel that released in November 2022, making people revisit the original film. The film’s popularity was 46.65 times its average demand. Avatar on the other hand was 63.28 times more in demand because of the sequel coming out in December and also because it was released over 13 years ago.
