Ryan Gosling MCU

Marvel has been known to hire actors who aren’t a household name and make them superstars but since their status risen to the stars, they’re actually considering attaching big names to themselves and exploit their IP to grow even bigger. With Eternals, Moon Knight and the recent Marvel movies drawing big names from Hollywood like Oscar Isaac and Angelina Jolie. The most recent rumor of an addition of a big fish being sucked into the orbit of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the star of Oscar winning movies like La La Land, Blade Runner 2049 and fan favorites like Drive, The Notebook, etc. He will also be playing Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie directed by Greta Gerwig. Yes you are right, it’s – Ryan Gosling. We could soon see the Canadian actor as a part of MCU. Rumors had suggested his association with a Nova project, that is in development. So, are the rumors true? Well, the latest updates suggests that Gosling is in talks with Marvel but for Marvel’s Thunderbolts and not Nova.

Ryan Gosling To Appear In Thunderbolts As The Villain?

According to the newest rumors, Ryan Gosling is actually in talks with Marvel to appear in an upcoming film-Which one you ask? Well, its none other than Thunderbolts- The Marvel version of The Suicide Squad. The Marvel movie is supposed to be a team-up movie with the gray characters present in the MCU. In the original comics, Thunderbolts was a team of Villains who are employed to defeat a greater evil, like Suicide Squad. It had villains like The Abomination. But for some reason, Marvel chosen to go with a more sanitized version of the team.

Ryan Gosling is rumored to appear in the film but not as a hero rather a villain. According to Patreon, Ryan Gosling is in being considered for the role of the villain- Sentry. The ultra powered being is supposed to look like a male between ages 30 and age 50, describing him as “a conflicted and powerful villain” and comparing him to an “evil Superman.” Marvel is interested in Gosling but along with him they’re also looking at Alexander Skarsgard. The character of Sentry has ties with Steve Rogers aka Captain America and the Super Soldier serum arc.

The character’s original name is Robert Reynolds and after taking the serum, Reynolds possessed with the power of what is described as “a million exploding suns,” leaving a trail of destruction behind him wherever he goes. This is an extremely powerful villain for the Thunderbolts to handle and I have no clue how they will put him under the ground. His inclusion as the villain makes sense as Bucky Barnes is also appearing in the film. I just hope that Marvel doesn’t waste another great actor like they did Christian Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Ryan Gosling’s latest film The Gray Man is available for streaming on Netflix.
