Looks like Marvel’s diving back into the weird and wonderful world of synthezoids. VisionQuest is officially in the works, with Paul Bettany returning as the emotionally confused, newly rebooted White Vision. After WandaVision melted our collective brains and Agatha All Along set the witchy chaos, VisionQuest is expected to wrap up the trilogy — and probably leave us with more existential questions than answers.
The show picks up right where WandaVision left off — Vision’s memories are back, but his feelings? Not so much. He remembers loving Wanda, dying twice, and saving the world, but the man inside the metal? Still on emotional airplane mode.
Ultron’s back (and apparently in human form?)

Because no Marvel story is complete without someone’s evil dad figure making things worse, Ultron is allegedly returning — not just as a robot, but possibly as a human. Yeah, you read that right. According to leaks, James Spader’s terrifying AI may appear in both forms and will “help” Vision rediscover his purpose… except, it’s Ultron, so we all know how that’ll go.
He’s also rumored to be joined by several other artificial intelligences — J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., and others — who take on human avatars. So basically, the MCU’s getting an AI family reunion, and it’s as unsettling as it sounds.
The big emotional angle (and maybe new creations?)

Apparently, Vision’s not just sitting around pondering humanity — he’s out there building Jocasta, another synthetic being, using fragments of his own mind and memories of Wanda Maximoff. Unfortunately, Ultron’s code slips in, so she’s half lover, half Trojan virus. Typical Marvel love story.
Rumor also has it that Wanda and Vision’s son, Tommy Maximoff (aka Speed), will make an appearance, tying the show neatly into Agatha All Along and the upcoming Young Avengers projects.
Expect vibes, not just fights

Showrunner Terry Matalas described VisionQuest as an “emotional sci-fi odyssey” about identity, grief, and the meaning of humanity — like Star Trek: Spock edition, but make it sparkly and Disney+. Bettany himself called it “a story about fathers, sons, and denial of pain,” which is Marvel code for get the tissues ready.
Leaks suggest a lot of the show takes place inside Vision’s mind, exploring surreal, trippy spaces where his old memories and AIs manifest as people. Think of it as Inception, but for androids having an existential crisis.
Set for release in late 2026 on Disney+, VisionQuest will have eight episodes of pure robot introspection, emotional trauma, and shiny visuals. Expect callbacks to Iron Man, Age of Ultron, and WandaVision, plus enough AI drama to make ChatGPT self-reflect. So yeah — VisionQuest isn’t just about rebooting a synthezoid. It’s about rebooting his soul. And if Ultron starts doing therapy monologues again, well… grab your popcorn.
