Marvel’s new plan is seems like to be on the look out for star power in their universe which is opposite to what they used to do earlier. Another addition to the MCU’s star power came with Emilia Clarke’s inclusion in Secret Invasion. The series is all set to release on Disney+ and will be the first series of MCU Phase 5. Along with Emilia Clarke, the series also has a returning MCU star – Samuel L. Jackson., who has always been the connecting thread of MCU. Also, this along with Armor Wars will possibly be his final appearance in the MCU and hence everyone is excited for this much more serious and gritty looking MCU production. As it happens, we have some cool updates for the fans, so read on.
Secret Invasion Plot Details Have Leaked – Minor Spoilers
We all know Secret Invasion is going to be about some evil Skrulls trying to take over humanity or something while our heroes try to stop them. This was a major plotline in the comics which revealed many of our favorite heroes to be Skrull as well. So, we expect some similar surprises and shocks from this series as well and following are some of the latest leaked plot details for the series. Beware that a few minor spoilers follow below, so read at your own risk.
Starting up, Rhodey is now the new Secretary of State. Emilia Clarke plays G’iah but she also plays Abigail Brandt (Nell is a codename) as the Skrull poses as her, but there is also the real version of her. This is similar to Captain Marvel’s Ben Mendelsohn playing Talos as well as a SHIELD agent. Valentina and Sharon Carter are also appear at various points throughout the series. Prepare for some shock as tt will be revealed that Rhodey and Sharon have been Skrulls ever since the end of Captain America: Civil War.
Hence, the upcoming Armor Wars is going to be the aftermath of the series as Skrulls have been messing with worldwide tech on their benefit and Rhodey has to clean up the mess. Anyways, Everett Ross is a fugitive after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever who discovers a Skrull cell and barely survives. He tries to contact Fury but only reaches Maria Hill as the real version of Nick Fury doesn’t appear until the end of episode 1. At first, he doesn’t trust Ross about the Skrulls infiltrating high ranks but then decides to investigate it. Moving on, the rebel Skrulls see Talos as a traitor for agreeing to continue the peaceful way and not fighting for their right to a home for their own.
Coming to the most important one, Quake aka Daisy Johnson appears in Episode 3 as well the Finale of the series. Her first appearance is like Matt Murdock in No Way Home and her appearance in the last episode is her being recruited by Nick Fury to a new team. As it happens, there’s nothing that indicates if Agents of SHIELD is canon or not and this entire arc plays out similar to the treatment Daredevil has received so far.
Leaks describe the tone of the show as being similar to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Star Wars: Andor and throughout the series, you can feel the paranoia of not trusting anyone. About the action sequences, they took as a reference the John Wick saga. Secret Invasion will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 21st June 2023.
