Spider-Man: No Way Home is arguably the most successful Marvel movie in Phase 4. No Way Home is the third Tom Holland Spider-Man film. The film is directed by Jon Watts who has also helmed the first two films. The film stars Tom Holland in the lead role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker and the supporting cast includes Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange and Benedict Wong as Wong. The film also starred Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield from their respective Spider-Man franchises. The film also has all the Spider-Man villains from the Raimi trilogy and the Amazing Spider-Man trilogy. The film’s plot was simple, following the events of Far From Home, Peter is struggling with everyone knowing his identity.

He approaches Dr. Strange to cast a spell so that the entire world forgets who Spider-Man is. The spell goes wrong causing everyone from all the universes to pop into Earth 616. Even if the film had many narrative problems and many elements in the film were simply there for fan service, the film was one of the best theatre experiences of my life. The film was the highest grossing film of 2021 with $1.9 Billion worldwide. Along with this the film had many seeds that had the potential to grow into sequels, notably a part of the Venom Symbiote being left in the MCU. Everyone was almost sure that Spider-Man 4 will involve the Venom symbiote however, a recent update suggests otherwise.

Spider-Man 4 Won’t Have the Venom Symbiote?

The inclusion of Tom Hardy’s Venom in the already Multiversally complicated No Way Home was a brilliant move, however, Marvel Studios was clear that they didn’t want to merge the universes and hence we didn’t see Tom Hardy coming across Tom Holland in No Way Home. Hardy has said in the past that he will do anything to make a crossover happen but Marvel seems stubborn. In fact, the piece of the symbiote that is in the MCU now seems to be dormant for a while as a new report suggests that it won’t come into action in the next film or even in the film after that.

YouTube channel The Heavy Spoilers mentioned, “Marvel originally had this big plan” to “slowly build up towards the black suit” in Tom Holland’s Spidey movies, but “Sony [starting] up their Venom franchise”caused ” a lot of trouble behind the scenes.” The breadcrumbs for the Symbiote suit story have started to be laid, but Heavy Spoilers noted that Spider-Man 4 “won’t actually focus on the black suit” and that “they’re saving it for a film further down the line.” So it appears that no Black suit Spider-Man for a while now.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently streaming on Netflix.
