Captain Marvel is not the most beloved Marvel, Brie Larson’s iteration of the famous Marvel superhero doesn’t have a good reputation in the MCU fanbase. The film struggled from an epic lack of swagger that we normally expect from an MCU film but along with that there were narrative and logical errors with the film. This is not good as Captain Marvel is one of the most powerful if not the most powerful superhero in the MCU. She would definitely have a huge role to play in the upcoming phases and the Multiverse Saga. There was a sequel in the works but since then it has become a team-up movie called The Marvels. The sequel will include Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. Originally, the film was supposed to come out in July this year but just last month Marvel announced that the film has been delayed to November 2023. The reason for this delay was supposed to be some production issues but there was nothing to worry about. However, a new update tells us that there is indeed things that should make you worry about the sequel.

Why The Marvels Might Be Delayed?

The Hot Mic podcast has once again given an inside look at an upcoming movie’s production. Jeff Sneider in another appearance on the podcast revealed that there are a lot of issues with The Marvels’ production. He delved in detail by revealing the development of the movie  as “just a shitshow” and “kind of chaos.” Sneider further revealed that the recent delay of the sequel to November was already the second delay as the film was originally going to release in February 2023 but it swapped dates with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Brie Larson is said to be the reason behind the film’s production delay as she doesn’t appreciate the film’s title being changed to The Marvels instead of calling it Captain Marvel. The new title is designed to allude to the team-up of Carol Danvers, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. The Wrap also reported that the film’s delay is because Marvel wants to change and fix some things in post production and give enough time for VFX improvement. As usual MCU is making significant changes in the post production.

MCU’s latest film: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently playing in theatres near you. The Marvels is slated to release in theatres near you on 10th November 2023.
