Thor: Love and Thunder will follow the Jane Foster Thor storyline from the comics. When it was announced Natalie Portman stole the spotlight by holding the Mjolnir giving a clear indication about what to expect from this film. Will the movie follow her classic origin storyline is yet to be seen. Surprisingly, the first teaser barely featured any Jane Foster Thor and rather fixated on Thor Odinson we all know and love. But in the final few seconds we saw Jane’s God of Thunder in full glory and an amazingly designed costume. Now we have been granted a deeper look into Jane and her role in the film with this newly released image.
Thor 4: Love and Thunder Jane Foster and Valkyrie
The new image from Thor: Love and Thunder that features Tess Thompson’s Valkyrie and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster as they sit in some fancy chairs. Both of them feature bold and beautiful costumes, especially Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie costume. The black and white costume resembles that of Gorr the God Butcher but looks very Asgardian from every angle. That aside, her new hairstyle adds to her bold look and honestly, she looks amazing!
On the other hand, Natalie Portman’s costume is comic book accurate and resembles Chris Hemsworth’s original Thor Odinson costume. She also looks incredible and it’s very rare to see such comic accurate costumes these days. We are pretty sure she’ll be a wonderful God of Thunder and just like Tessa’s Valkyrie she too has taken a bold approach towards her character.
Fun fact: This is the first time Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson will share screen together in the history of MCU.
Are Valkyrie and Jane Foster With Gods of Olympus?
In the teaser we saw a short clip of Russell Crowe’s Zeus and the hall of Gods of Olympus. So, there is no doubt Gods of Olympus aka the Greek Gods are going to be in the film and they must be planning to take Christian Bale’s Gorr down. From it appears, the image seems to hint towards a meeting between remaining Gods of each Pantheon which includes both Norse and Greek Gods. So, it looks like Jane the new God of Thunder, and Valkyrie the King of New Asgard are attending this meeting with Gods of Olympus to formulate a strategy against Gorr.
As you can see, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor seems to be missing from the image. It’s possible that he’s sitting somewhere else but the better theory is that he ain’t there. The trailer showcased that he’ll be on a path to find inner peace and a new purpose. So, it is possible that he is exploring the universe with Guardians of the Galaxy and isn’t available at the time of this meeting. Anyways this pic has hyped us even further and we can’t wait to see Thor: Love and Thunder when it releases worldwide on 8th July 2022.
