Thor 4 Love and Thunder Debuts the Best Marvel Trailer Since Sometime Thor with Helmet

Chris Hemsworth dawned the cape of Thor in 2011 with his first film in the MCU of the same name. He then went onto appear in The Avengers released in the same year. He reprised his role as God of Thunder in the 2013 Thor: The Dark World and then appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. Whether it be his standalone movies or crossover movies like the Avengers, Thor never was a fan favorite like Ironman or Captain America. Critics always grilled the standalone films and cited his crossover appearances as one dimensional. Even Marvel fans considered Thor movies as some of the worst MCU had to offer.

However, this perception changed in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. With Taika Waititi coming onboard it brought a fresh take on the character and his world. It is considered as one of the best movies in the MCU. With the same fresh take God of Thunder went onto appear in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame and played pivotal roles in both. However, out of the OG Avengers, he was the only one whose story appeared incomplete and he was the first one to get a fourth standalone film. That fourth standalone film is Thor: Love and Thunder and in a recent promotional event for the same Chris Hemsworth revealed his future in the MCU.

Thor: Love and Thunder Chris Hemsworth on his MCU future

It appears as Hemsworth is as clueless as us when it comes to future MCU appearances. He revealed in an interview with Wired when he was asked what is his last movie as the character. “The last one I just shot was Thor: Love and Thunder. And it may be my last, I don’t know,” he responded. The actor also revealed the condition he posed in front of Marvel to return as the Norse Thunder God. According to reports, Hemsworth was done after Thor: The Dark World and wasn’t willing to play Thor anymore although when he starred in Thor: Ragnarok he realized the difference in quality Taika Waititi brought. When the talks were going on for a fourth Thor movie, he had one condition to return.

Hemsworth said, “I just love playing [Thor.] I love the journey I have been on with him. Not only as Thor, but just my life. The two have been side by side for 10, 11 years now and have both crossed over into each other’s world from time to time.” “I don’t know that I would’ve done another if Taika hadn’t said yes, he was going to do it,” the actor concluded. “And he had written this beautiful script which was a wacky, crazy, romantic comedy set in space and that I hadn’t seen before.” So, maybe if Taika Waititi agrees to do a fifth Thor movie Hemsworth would return. As the actor we don’t know for sure but the chances look dim.

Apart from Thor: Love and Thunder, the actor starred in a recent Netflix original named Spiderhead, check out our review for the same. Thor: Love and Thunder hits theatres on 8th July 2022 or 7th if you live in India. Until then checkout the trailer for the same.
