Thor: Love and Thunder is all set to hit the theatres on 8th July, 2022 and is one upcoming MCU Phase 4 film that fans have been impatiently waiting for. It will be the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fourth one in the Thor franchise. Thor is the only MCU superhero to receive a 4th standalone installment and we expected nothing less from the character.
One of the reasons for its immense is also that it would be the first time we’ll see Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy after the events of Endgame. Guardians of the Galaxy have been a crucial part of Thor’s journey in MCU Phase 4. Thor especially developed a special bond with Rocket Raccoon and Groot during the events of Infinity War. So, it came as no surprise when it was confirmed that all the guardians minus Gamora will make an appearance in Thor 4. Well it seems like we’ll also be reunited with a fan-favorite after a long time.
Kraglin Returns in Thor: Love and Thunder
In the first teaser for the film, we got our first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy as well as Thor’s new found bond with them. Then in the trailer we got a deeper look into these characters and got to know that GOTG play much more role than we first imagined. At first, it seemed like they’ll just drop him off and help him get back into shape. But it seems like they’ll now take part in the war against Gorr the God Butcher, which makes Thor 4 no less of a crossover event. That aside, the latest promo video showcases the return of one of the fan-favorite Ravager turned Guardian Kraglin.
Kraglin is played by Sean Gunn, the brother of James Gunn, and was first introduced in GOTG Vol 1. Later, he went on to play a major role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (2017), but ever since then he’s been absent. The last we saw of him was at the end of GOTG 2 where he took on the mantle of Yondu and was learning to control his Yaka Arrow. It was earlier revealed that he indeed had a part to play in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame, but that shot was cut out from the film. Anyways, after 5 years, he is all set to return to the roster and it seems like he has learned how to control the arrow. Have a look at his return below:
Fun Fact: Since GOTG Vol 2 took place right after GOTG 1 in 2014 and there was a 5 year time skip in Avengers: Endgame, in MCU timeline Kraglin has been missing for around 13 years.
