Top 8 Actors Who Can Play Marvel's Ghost Rider In the Order of Possibility

It is about time MCU embraced Marvel Comics’ darker and supernatural universe and ever since Black Knight’s introduction and Blade’s voice in Eternals, they have been trying to do so. Moon Knight was supposed to be one of the first MCU project based on the dark and supernatural characters in MCU. Unfortunately, it turned out to be mediocre and due to Marvel’s Blade delay, the dark MCU universe is currently on hold but we are pretty sure it will happen eventually. In 2022, MCU already introduced us to Werewolf By Night and Man-Thing, so it is only a matter of time that we’re introduced to MCU’s official Ghost Rider as well. The fans find ways to trend this subject every so often and today, we’re listing down their picks for Marvel’s Ghost Rider in the order of possibility.

8. Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is probably the top choice among fans to play Ghost Rider, but also the most unlikely one. Agreed that he may look pretty good but the major reason he would never be cast as Ghost Rider is his age. Although, Marvel usually listens to fan demands these days, they would never cast a 60 year old actor for a character they plan their future with. However, just to please fans, Marvel may let Keanu have a cameo as an older GR probably, Carter Slade.

7. Norman Reedus

Once again, he’s the top choice among fans, and once again he’ll be dropped for the same reasons as Keanu Reeves. Although, one has to admit, he’d look pretty cool on Johnny Blaze’s bike!

6. Anthony Starr

Anthony Starr rose to fame thanks to his role as Homelander in The Boys and that might exactly be the reason we won’t probably see him as Ghost Rider. Since, he’s already playing one of the most popular comic book character in the world right now, it is highly unlikely that he’d play another such role.

5. Jensen Ackles

Although, he is not the top choice for most fans, he could fit in really well as the character. The Supernatural star proved his fitness and suitability for such roles with his debut as Soldier Boy in The Boys. He has also got the persona and voice that would suit Ghost Rider but again, it is highly unlikely for him as well for the same reasons as Anthony Starr.

4. Ryan Gosling

MCU Ryan Gosling Wants to Play Ghost Rider, Not Nova

Ryan Gosling is the most suitable to play Johnny Blaze among the top choices of fans. He has proven to not just to be a great actor but also a fine action star and is capable enough to play the character for many years in future. That aside, he has openly expressed his desire to play Ghost Rider stating that is the one superhero he actually wants to play. The only reason he might not be casted is that he is too much of an A lister with more fans and more critical acclaim than one can imagine, and hence, he might cost Marvel a lot of money.

3. Charlie Hunnam

Charlie’s got the looks, the style, as well as the persona for playing Johnny Blaze and can easily play the character for 10 years. He is also not as popular as some of the other actors on the list and that is what Marvel usually looks for as they have a history of making stars out of underappreciated actors.

2. Austin Butler

Yes, he is not that popular of a choice for Ghost Rider among fans but he would be the most ideal candidate to play a young Johnny Blaze and carry the franchise forward for years. His latest film, The Bikeriders shows him in a badass avatar exactly opposite to his role in Elvis. The Academy Award nominated actor would certainly be a good fit.

1. Gabriel Luna

Why look for anyone else when you’ve already got a Ghost Rider highly celebrated by the fans? Gabriel Luna’s portrayal of Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider elevated Agents of SHIELD to new heights as Season 4 still remains the best season of the show. His sheer presence and aura as Ghost Rider won the hearts of millions of fans and his entire character arc introduced fans to a side of Marvel, they never knew existed. Hence, the most likely scenario might be the canonical re-introduction of Gabriel Luna’s successful iteration of Ghost Rider. If you haven’t seen his interpretation yet, check out this link.

That is all from our side but we’d like to know what you think about the list and who’ll be your top choices for Ghost Rider ranked by possibility.
