Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness proved to a be unique but not so glorious MCU film. It had a lot of potential but it is safe to say that it did not live up to it properly. Yet it made up for an entertaining and thrilling watch which kept viewers on the edge of their seats and sometimes fall off it. That’s because there is no doubt Doctor Strange 2 was the scariest Marvel film till date and it could have been really scary if it wasn’t PG-13.
One of the most surprising scene moments was the appearance of Illuminati which quickly turned into the most horrifying moment in the film. The Earth-838 Illuminati suffered quite gory deaths at the hands of Scarlett Witch and one of them was Mr. Fantastic. As previously leaked, the famous actor and director John Krasinski took on the role of Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic of Earth-838. The short but hype-worthy cameo ended up in one of the most brutal deaths in the MCU, leaving fans rooting for more. Since then, fans have been asking one simple question.
Will John Krasinski play Mr. Fantastic in Fantastic 4?
The simple answer would be yes and there are two reasons for the same. First, fans have been pitching John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic ever since Fantastic Four was announced. Second, there is absolutely no point for Marvel Studios and Krasinski to make that happen and then take it away in 5 minutes. Most probably Krasinski must have signed a 2-3 film agreement as of now and there is 99% chance that he will return as Reed Richards in Fantastic Four movie.
These cameos basically served as a teaser for what’s about to come in the MCU and Krasinski’s return is almost a guarantee. That aside, we also hope to see Aston Mount’s BlackBolt, and Sir Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in future. Though, no such projects have been announced as of now, Fantastic Four film is all set to debut in Phase 5 of MCU. So, we might soon be hearing official confirmation that John Krasinski will return as Earth-616 (MCU Prime Earth)’s Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.
That aside, popular Twitter handle @MCUSource has already confirmed this. Although, they never reveal or mention their sources, they are rarely wrong. So, we can trust their word for it as well as the basic logic of Krasinski’s cameo.

When asked about the same from Doctor Strange 2 screenwriter Michael Waldron, he told Variety, “It’s a question for somebody else. I’m not involved in the casting, but as with all of these performers, I worked really closely with him in bringing that character to life with him and Sam.” So, fans are still in the dark about this casting but believe me, it’s only a matter of time before he’s officially announced for the role.
