The most hyped superhero film of the year is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a sequel to Sony’s redemption to the world after nearly destroying the character of Spider-Man by putting him in worse and worse movies. With Into the Spider-Verse, Sony completely chucked their outdated narratives and ideas regarding what a Spider-Man can be and reinvented the superhero. To tell a story around Miles Morales’ Spider-Man and not Peter Parker was a brave move and one which paid off. The sequel is prepared to set the box office on fire as the opening weekend prediction ($80 million) for Across the Spider-Verse is double of its predecessor. The hype is also not limited to the US as the worldwide opening weekend collection of the film is $150 million.
This is great news for a film made on a budget of approximately $100 million. The film premiered yesterday and the critics couldn’t be more in love with it. The hype for Spider-Verse is increasing day by day and ahead of its release tomorrow, one question that you might have on your mind is- how many post credit scenes does the sequel have? So, that you can manage your bathroom itinerary.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Has No Post Credit Scene!
So, sorry to disappoint y’all but Across the Spider-Verse doesn’t feature any post credit scenes. Nope, nada. Post credit scene or mid credit scenes are often associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe because of their constant tease of Thanos through them. However, nowadays they’re becoming an industry accepted norm. For instance, Fast X had a post credit scene featuring the Rock, which in my opinion was more exciting than the entire movie. The Spider-Verse universe is also no stranger to additional scene throughout the credits.
Into the Spider-Verse had one post credit scene that showed Spider-Man 2099, jumping into the classic animated cartoon to parody the multiple Spider-Men meme. That foreshadowed the frolics to come with Oscar Isaac’s Miguel in this film. Although once that is wrapped in this film, there is no post credit scene employed to build hype for Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is believed to be the concluding chapter of the this franchise. However, there is a little title card tease for you guys, so hardcore fans may wanna stay back a bit.
The sequel stars Oscar Isaac, Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson and Issa Rae in prominent roles. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will releasing in theatres on 2nd June 2023.
