Kraven The Hunter is Sony’s latest addition to their Spider-Man Extended Universe or whatever they’re calling it, basically I’m referring to the universe where Tom Hardy’s Venom, Jared Leto’s Morbius and Dakota Johnson’s Madame Webb (upcoming) are a part of. Joining these anti-heroes is Aaron Taylor Johnson’s Kraven The Hunter. The Spider-Man is getting his solo outing and I couldn’t be more exciting as I love this character. I have to say Sony has also nailed the casting this time. Aaron Taylor Johnson is ideal for a character like Kraven. The film was in development for a long time, the release date of the venture shifted and shifted but Sony has finally decided to stick with October. Speaking of which the film’s marketing campaign has been kicked off by Sony by releasing a new trailer and posters for the film.

I have to say that for such a vivid character I found the trailer to be rather bland and I wasn’t really hooked. There was nothing particular that excited me, in any department. Aaron Taylor Johnson’s presence wasn’t as effective as in some of his other films. One thing which I did enjoy was the lion’s CGI. The beast looked so real and full of life. Other than that there was nothing that made me jumped out of my seat. For a time where trailers are cut better than movies Kraven The Hunter’s trailer was pretty mediocre. I just hope the final product which we will see in October is better, at least more exciting. The trailer was able to give me a glimpse of a character, like the makers are putting in effort to develop Kraven’s character with his father and everything which is played by Russell Crowe.

Kraven The Hunter is directed by J.C. Chandor with a screenplay from Richard Wenk, Art Marcum and Matthew Holloway. The film stars Aaron Taylor Johnson in the lead role and along with him the supporting cast includes Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose and Alessandra Nivola.
Kraven the Hunter is all set to release in theatres on 6 October 2023.
