George Lucas’s brainchild only seems to get bigger and bigger – Star Wars. The Dune inspired franchise that started out late in 1970s has become one of the biggest franchises ever and might be having the biggest fanbase ever. While most fans still believe the franchise was at its peak in the days of the Original Trilogy, including me. There is some argument that the Sequel Trilogy has its own merit. Although, I don’t think anyone’s going to make an argument for the Prequel Trilogy. If you want to, make it in the comments section. However, I think it is fair to say that the Sequel Trilogy crashed its landing with Rise of the Skywalker. Although, after that debacle Star Wars turned to Disney+ as its new home to create more content and dive deep into the various worlds mythology of Star Wars. Their first show, The Mandalorian was created by Jon Favreau.
Apart from the mainstream films in the various trilogies, there have been other spinoff films like Solo. However, it seems like with the two seasons of The Mandalorian seems to have rejuvenated the quality of Star Wars. With many new fans joining the Star Wars universe merely because of Mandalorian. The show has amassed quite the fan following. Considering the success of one show Disney was quick to produce multiple projects into motion. The Book of Boba Fett being one of them. The show came out in late 2021 and early 2022. The show was not particularly well received, it was certainly not good as The Mandalorian. However, the fans of The Mandalorian and the general IP power of Star Wars did generate a decent viewership score for the show. So much so that a second season seems afoot.
The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 in the works?
The lukewarm reception of the show had fans in question about the show getting another season. However, the note the show ended on does raised some interesting questions. Especially when we know that Star Wars is trying to create its own interconnected universe, maybe not in the same timeline but nevertheless. We know for sure that there is definitely a third season of The Mandalorian coming, it does raise the question of The Book of Boba Fett Season 2.
According to the reputed leakster Dan RPK, the 2nd Season of the show will be coming very soon. If that is so then the show is definitely in production now. While we don’t know for sure when the second season will come out but it is definitely coming soon if Dan says so. Check out the post from Dan on Reddit.
