The Mandalorian is Still the Most Watched Star Wars Show!

The Mandalorian on Disney+ remains the most watched Star Wars series, according to recent stats. The live-action series made its Disney+ debut in November 2019 and has since gained popularity among fans. As they set out on journeys in search of family and self-discovery, the titular Mandalorian Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his adorable foundling Grogu (“Baby Yoda”) have won over audiences from all over the world. Set to premiere in February 2023, the anticipation for season 3 of The Mandalorian has only intensified. First take a look at The Mandalorian Season 3 trailer right here!

The Mandalorian Was The Most In-Demand Show Worldwide During Its Run

Since The Mandalorian’s 2019 debut, two other live-action Star Wars series have been added: this year’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett from 2021. Because of the buzz around Obi-Wan Kenobi, many fans anticipated that the limited series’ viewership would easily surpass that of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, as evidenced by social media reactions alone.

However, new Nielsen data shows that The Mandalorian is still the most-watched series on Disney+. According to data for the first four episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the show garnered 3.3 billion minutes of viewing in the United States, as opposed to 2.2 billion minutes for the first four episodes of The Mandalorian season 1, with just half as many present Disney+ subscribers.

The Mandalorian remains the most popular Disney+ Star Wars series, even though viewership figures can be misleading. Fans can’t get enough of the armoured warrior and his foundling, along with the array of new characters and settings as well as the adorable appeal of “Baby Yoda.” It would be interesting to watch if The Mandalorian maintains its position as the leading live-action Star Wars series over time, especially with the release of the much-awaited season 3 in February 2023.

Season 3 of the popular Star Wars series will feature a journey to Mandalore and the return of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff). The Mandalorian will return in a little over six months and will again demonstrate why it has become a fan favourite among Star Wars enthusiasts.
