The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 2 Spoilers, Leaks, and Full Plot Summary

Disney Plus and Star War’s flagship show The Mandalorian is back with its highly anticipated season 3. Although the first episode kind of failed to replicate the magic of first two seasons, we are all pretty optimistic about what awaits us in the rest of the season. The two most important missions of Din Djarin were successfully established in the premiere first, his redemption at the ruins of Mandalore and second, the restoration of Mandalore with the help of Bo-Katan and Darksaber. It seems like all these elements will come into play in the next episode itself! Now this article isn’t for the people who like to witness stuff firsthand and so, MASSIVE SPOILER warning is now in effect, as the article consists of entire plot summary for second episode, thanks to the StarWarsLeaks Subreddit.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 2 opens on Mos Eisley at night with two speeders racing each other through the streets. Fireworks are going off and it’s apparently celebration of Boonta Eve. Cut to Pelli Motto swindling a Rodian about fixing a speeder. When the Rodian leaves she brings Jawas in to complete the Hustle. Din lands in his starfighter and asks about the memory chip for an IG-unit. Her and the Jawas say can’t be done. Pelli hustles Mando into taking R5 and reinstalls the droid port. Din then leaves. Trailer shot of the fireworks, pelli and Mos Eisley are all here. Din heads to Mandalore and shows Grogu where it is on the starfighter map. He points put Bo Katan’s planet on the scope and the moon he grew up on outside the canopy.

They go through a storm (trailer shot) before landing on Mandalore. Din sends R5 out to scan. Him and Grogu track him from the ship but the tracking stops. Din pressurizes and goes to find R5, leaving Grogu. He heads in a cave (the one Grogu appears from in the trailer) where he’s ambushed by humanoid monsters (seen in trailer) he defeats them with the dark saber but with difficulty. He’s still dragging it like in TBOBF. Finds R5 and goes back to the ship. R5 scans and shows the planet is breathable. R5 is left at the ship while Din and Grogu go explore. In the cave again they’re above an underground city which Din says is the Civic Center. They go lower and deep into another cave tunnel; passing a snarling bat-dragon creature. Has the snout of a dimetrodon and green glowing eyes. Din appears upon a broken Mandalorian helmet in the ground and picks it up (trailer shot.)

Suddenly Din is captured by a giant spider droid with a creepy glowing red eye in the center. It takes Din away and Grogu follows it behind in his pod. When the droid gets to its lair it shuts down and a smaller cybernetic spider-like thing with the same eye comes out the top hatch. It puts Din (now in a man-sized cage) on top of pit as if he’s about to be cooked over a fire. The lair is lit with amber lighting. The cyber-organism removes Din’s blaster and Darksaber to throw them on the ground. After that it starts rummaging around giving Grogu an opportunity to go up to Din. Din struggles to tell Grogu to head to Bo Katan. Grogu rushes out in his pod. The bat creature follows. Once he teaches the top it’s the trailer moment with the cave and humanoid monster. Grogu used the force then continues to the starship. Once he’s inside the bat creature attacks but they get away. Grogu points to the dot on the screen for Bo’s planet for R5.

We cut to Bo’s throne room with her droid alerting that a ship is approaching. She sees the starfighter from the window and looks annoyed. As it lands she marches out to tell off Din until Grogu appears. Bo tells her droid to download R5’s recent memory to find out where they went. Next shot is all characters inside Bo’s ship heading to Mandalore. Once there it’s the trailer shot of the circular city. Bo comments it used to not look like that. After landing she asks Grogu to lead the way. Getting through the lower cave it’s another humanoid monster encounter. Bo defeats with ease. Trailer shot “Did you think your Dad was the only Mandalorian.” As they keep walking Bo mentions knowing lots of Jedi in her past. At the lair the cybernetic is hooking up a machine that begins to draw blood from Din. Bo arrives to fight it. Memory is hazy here.

The beings head gets cut off but it survives and pilots the big spider droid . Either before or after the decapitation Bo finds the Darksaber and starts fighting with it. It’s clear she is highly skilled with the weapon, destroying the machine with ease. Camera fades to black in Din’s point of view as he passes out. We wake up to Din laying down, Bo preparing a drink (for Din) in a mini encampment and Grogu next to them. All are overlooking the Civic Center. Din’s weapons arrayed out next to him including the Darksaber. Bo didn’t take it. They talk and Din insists on continuing to the mines. Bo reluctantly says she will lead him there since she knows how to get to them.

Back in the depths they enter a large doorway to the mines; happening on steps leading into water and a pillar with an inscription on the left. Bo reads the inscription out loud. Din takes off his jetpack and cape and enters the water while reciting the creed. All of a sudden he is taken under. Bo leaps in after him, using her jetpack to go deeper and deeper until she finds him. As they go back to the surface her flashlight shines upon an open eye of a giant creature. The Mythosaur looks at them but doesn’t react much to their presence. It is definitely alive. Bo and Din surface out of breath back above the steps. Episode ends here.
