We all knew there was going to be some of the Mandalorian in The Book of Boba Fett, but not so much! The final 3 episodes almost seemed like the first few of The Mandalorian season 3. No wonder fans started calling the show The Book of The Mandalorian. While it may not have been that great for Boba Fett fans, Star Wars fans as a whole and Mandalorian fans absolutely loved TBOBF.
Fav Favorite Character Might Return
All fans almost cried when Mando and Grogu reunited in The Book of Boba Fett. They did all their signature stuff like playing with the gear ball, arguing, protecting each other, going lightspeed etc etc. As expected, it ended with Din and Grogu, perfectly setting up The Mandalorian season 3. We’ll talk about what we expect to see in Mandalorian Season 3 in the following section, but first hear this!
Remember IG-11? The droid who befriended Din Djarin, protected Grogu throughout season 1, and sacrificed himself at the end of first season? Yeah, he’s reportedly going to return in The Mandalorian Season 3. The droid, who was voiced by Taika Watiti, was a fan-favorite character and his death had a great impact in Din’s character growth. Why they’d bring it back is beyond our understanding but here’s what we know.
Reports from Making Star Wars suggest that the droid’s armored body would serve as a mechanical suit for Grogu. He would sit inside it and control it while also getting assistance and protection from the droid. You’re right, the concept is much like the suits from Matrix, Avatar etc. It is not entirely confirmed that droid would actually be IG-11 or just another IG droid. But the crew members are reportedly referring to the suit as IG-11, and it will be no surprise considering we hardly ever loose any fan favorite characters permanently. We keep seeing them in some way or the other. From what it appears, it seems like Jawas might have rescued his parts as they always reach everyplace on time somehow.
Mandalorian Season 3 Plot
A big part of Season 3 would be Djarin’s redemption and being accepted as a Mandalorian again. But as he stated the mines where he could do so, have been destroyed. So, it would be interesting to see how he reclaims his membership. He might seek help from Bo-Katan and her warriors we were introduced to in season 2. Also, his allies Boba Fett, The Marshal, Fennec Shand, and Ahsoka Tano will surely have some cool roles to play.
Another important plot point would be learning how to use the Darksaber properly and unlocking its full potential. He has won it fair and straight 2 times now but he is yet to learn how to master it. The biggest narrative of Season 3, though, would be leading his fellow Mandalorians and rebuilding Mandalore. Since he is the true wielder of the darksaber, he is the one who will lead his people to glory and peace.
The original Disney Plus Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi is all set to debut on 25th May, 2022.
