The Boys Antony Starr to Play Dracula in Marvel 's Blade?

Marvel Studios’ supposed announcement schedule for D23 Expo 2022 and San Diego Comic-Con 2022 has reportedly been debunked. The lineup in question was shared on the Reddit thread r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers. It states, among other things, that Marvel Studios will reveal during SDCC that The Boys actor Antony Starr has joined the cast as Dracula in the upcoming Blade reboot movie starring Mahershala Ali. The post also states that Steven Spielberg is in “final negotiations” to helm Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four reboot, which they claim will be showcased at D23. Check out the lineup below.

Starr’s rumored involvement in the Blade movie has been put on hold by Discussing Film’s Jacob Fisher, who also seriously questions the rest of the supposed SDCC lineup. According to Fisher, “Antony Starr will begin filming The Boys Season 4 at the exact time Blade begins filming,” automatically debunking the list.

Additionally, Collider’s Steven Weintraub wrote the following in a tweet: “[L]ove reading all these people that say they know what [Marvel Studios] is doing at [Comic-Con]. They’re all lying. Marvel keeps the con info on super secret lockdown. [Especially] this far out. As we get closer to next Saturday, something could leak but not a week out.”

The moderators of r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers even appear dubious about the legitimacy of the lineup, as seen by a pinned comment from them that reads, “This information is NOT verified. The SDCC info also seems to be taken from a random deleted Twitter account.”

Fans Look Forward To The Boys’ Star Joining The MCU

Fans, however, immediately voiced their excitement at the prospect of Starr taking on the role of the Prince of Darkness. One Twitter user remarked, “I’ll never complain about Anthony Starr in the MCU.” Another fan who was upset at Elodie Yung’s rumoured departure from her role as Elektra in Daredevil tweeted, “Anthony Starr as Dracula would slapp soo hard.”

The Reddit post ends by claiming that several scoopers have “all validated pieces” of the alleged lineup, but it’s difficult to ignore all the credible sources that have called the post into question.

It would be interesting to find out if the rumours about Starr joining the MCU are true or not, but it’d definitely be a delightfully amusing choice of casting given how much The Boys parodies the franchise. Nevertheless, it is confirmed that Ali will be portraying the titular role when Blade finally hits theatres in more than a year.
