Venom 3 is a follow-up of the 2021 Venom: Let There Be Carnage which belongs to Sony’s new found universe of Spider-Man villains. For the most part, the Venom films have been grilled by the critics but well received by the audience. However, in this changing landscape of cinema where superhero movies are losing their place in the market, is Venom 3 such a good idea? Probably not. But then again, who am I to point out a big Hollywood studio’s decision? The threequel was also one of the many movies and TV shows which was impacted by the Hollywood strikes and despite having begun production earlier this year, the film had to be halted on account of the strikes. Although, now that the strikes have ended, Sony is looking to get back on track with its films, starting with Venom 3.

Venom 3 Has Been Delayed!

Minutes after news broke about the SAG-AFTRA strikes coming to a close, Sony Pictures took to Twitter to make an official announcement that their upcoming film, Venom 3 will release in theatres exactly one year later i.e., November 8th, 2023. The announcement was made on Wednesday night. This release date was previously slated by the studio for an untitled Sony/Marvel collaboration, many suspected it to be Venom 3 but nothing was official until today. Talking about the creative team behind the threequel, there are some changes.

Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey), who wrote and produced the first two Venom movies will helm the threequel. In addition to Hardy, Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor are both joining the cast. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker will all produce alongside Marcel and Hardy.

Venom 3 will debut in theatres near you on November 8th, 2024.
