The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 Review - The Good Work Continues in the Best Episode So Far

Amazon PrimeVideo’s The Boys Season 3 is anything but normal and has tons of gore, weird sex, and certain outrightly bold and disgusting scenes. This season actually features many uncomfortable scenes which many viewers might not be okay with, and you can check out our review for The Boys Season 3 Episode 1, 2, and 3 here. The first three episodes debuted last week on Friday, 3rd June and now The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 is out and here’s our verdict for the same.

The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 Is The Most Intense One Yet

This episode was way more intense than the previous three which quite tensed and disturbing themselves. But as usual the show found a way to top that with an episode full of tense moments, fatalities, and a lot of fresh content. The Boys Season 3 seems like the Game of Thrones of superhero genre and is full of betrayals, violence, sexual fetishes, and a full blown Ramsay Bolton like psychopath in the form of Homelander. The new episode is consistent with its gore, profanity, VFX, and cinematography, however, it didn’t feature as much ‘crazy’ as the previous episodes.

Talking about crazy, Homelander has truly gone nuts and is literally drunk on power right now. From blackmailing and threatening to psychologically tormenting and straight up killing people, he has become insane. Honestly, he is the most hateable character on TV right now but the fact is that he is the heart of this series. We all wanna see rest of the characters on the show take him down, but without him the series would feel quite empty. That said, he brutally murdered Alex to make an example out of him, tormented Hughie and Starlight, and took Gus, sorry, Edgar down with the help of Victoria Newman. Uff, that Victoria Newman twist now completely makes me hate her, even though she’s doing it all for her kid.

The Boys Accidently Release Soldier Boy

Before talking about Solider Boy, let us pay our tribute to Alex aka Supersonic, may he rest in peace. The all of a sudden and off screen murder of Alex by Homelander was the most shocking moment of this episode. With so much screen time in the past episodes, we expected Alex to stay around a bit more or at least die on screen. It was like his death did not matter at all and he was killed off like an insignificant character; he deserved better. So, as he randomly killed the newest member of the Seven, it seems like Homelander can do anything now.

Now, talking about the Boys, Kimiko had one too many moments to shine in this episode. She went on a rampage during the orgy scene and later on decided to quit this hitwoman job once the task is done. But it seems like fate had something else in store for her as she was gravely injured in the final act. After getting high on V24, Butcher and Hughie succeeded in killing of everyone in the Russian facility only to unleash Soldier Boy. He created an explosion and fatally injured Kimiko who didn’t begin to heal post that. But it seems like we’ll have to wait for next week to see what happens to her. Good thing is that Soldier Boy is now more powerful than ever, and we can’t wait to see him reunite with Black Noir. Also, when in the hell, will we see Black Noir?!

Final Verdict – The Boys Season 3 Episode 4 maintains the quality of the previous episodes and garnishes it shocking twists, brutal deaths, and a gripping plot.
