In The Boys Season 2 we saw the fall of Homelander, Stormfront as well as Vought. The Boys were handed a sweet victory as they were cleared of all charges and Annie was reinstated in the Seven. But at the end of season 2 we saw Homelander losing his mind and Hughie unknowingly joining hands with the assassin Neuman. The real threat to our heroes here is Homelander who is now breaking apart and might go full on rampage mode in Season 3. The trailer confirmed how he’s losing his sanity and wants the world to see the “real me”. Anyways, we’ve now received a really promising update from the showrunner and here’s what it is.
The Boys Season 3 Will Feature A Jaw-droppingly Insane Opening
The Boys executive producer, writer, and showrunner, Eric Kripke has teased season 3’s opening scene as “jaw-droppingly insane.” He said that the first 15 minutes is one of the craziest sequences that any show has ever done before in an interview with the SFX Magazine. He went on to talk about it in detail and here’s what he aid:
One tease I can say is, in the first 15 minutes of episode one we have not just the craziest sequence we have ever done, but the craziest sequence pretty much anybody has ever done. It’s so jaw-droppingly insane. It’s so much fun. It’s the best job I have ever had, to think about this stuff. It’s always the frosting on the cake…If we are spending three weeks to break an episode, we spend two-and-a-half banging down on character, plot and emotion. Then, only when all the painful work is done, we take a break – it’s almost like a wine spritzer – and take a couple of days to say, ‘Now, let’s all think of the craziest sh-t we can to lay in on top of the hard work we had already done.’
The Boys has always been insane and has changed the shape of the superhero world ever since it debuted. It features many crazy scenes from multiple exploding heads, and exploding whales to weird superhuman sex and Mr. Fantastic like stretchable penises. This season of the Boys can be quite diabolical in Butcher’s words and might hand us a few heart-breaking deaths. But that’s what we love about this show, the unpredictability and lots of gore. Beware of Homelander as he can kill everyone and everything when he pleases and he surely not in a good place. Is it possible that the season opens like Homelander on a rampage much like Invincible’s Omni-Man?
The Boys Season 3 is all set to debut on 3rd June, 2022 worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.
