Showrunner Eric Kripe confirmed on Twitter with two photos that it is a curtain on The Boys Season 4. The two photos he posted were of him with series stars Jack Quaid and Karen Fukuhara covered in blood, which is something we expect from every The Boys episode. He did write “love & gratitude”, although there has been no confirmation whether this would be the final season for the The Boys. I don’t think the series should return for Season 5, they should kill Homelander in this season once and for all and without him The Boys won’t be the same. All these developments came in April 2023. Cut to two months later and we still don’t have any update on when the fourth season would air on Amazon Prime. Well, that changes today for the worse as it appears The Boys Season 4 has been delayed indefinitely for now.
When Will The Boys Season 4 Release?
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke took to Twitter to offer fans an explanation as to when will the new episodes of The Boys Season 4 will debut. He wrote, “depends on how long the #WGA Strike goes.” He went on to say there’s “no answer yet” and encouraged viewers to “Tell the studios to make a fair deal!” This explanation definitely sparked some issues as fans were wondering why the Writer’s Strike is an obstacle since the filming for the season has wrapped meaning no more writing will be done.
Well, Kripke made sure that he clarifies the fan’s concerns. He wrote: “There’s a good amount of dialogue we write in post that the actors come back to record (called ADR), to help bridge story gaps or clarify a plot point. We’ll also edit dialogue together in different ways to ‘rewrite’ it. Writing at every stage of the process. #WGAStrong” However, this doesn’t mean that the editing and VFX work cannot go on unhindered. Though, the release date of Season Four would remain indefinite until the WGA strike ends.
Many expected The Boys Season Four to have a summer premiere date as two of the three previous seasons were released in June/July, but the ongoing strike delaying progress on pivotal moments in the editing phase will certainly make it hard to release.

The Boys cast will also be growing, in addition to returning members like Quaid, Fukuhara, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, and Antony Starr. New supes Sister Sage and Firecracker will be played by Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry respectively, alongside other newcomers Rob Benedict, Elliot Knight, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Rosemarie DeWitt (who will be playing Hughie’s mother opposite returning star Simon Pegg). It has also previously been hinted at that Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, who debuted in season 3, might be returning as well.
All three season of The Boys is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The Boys Season 4 doesn’t have a release date yet.
