Besties, I didn’t think I could dislike Belly more than I already did after last week’s emotional wreck—but The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Episode 9 proved me wrong. This episode was a CASE STUDY in selfishness. Belly has now officially shattered BOTH Fisher boys’ hearts, and I honestly don’t know how the writers expect us to root for her anymore.
Conrad, Jeramiah and Their Belly Heartbreak

Let’s start with Jeremiah. Sweet, golden-hearted Jeremiah, who has spent this entire season bending over backwards trying to give Belly the future she swore she wanted. And what did he get in return? A broken engagement, a fractured heart, and the realization that he was never more than a placeholder for Conrad in Belly’s mind. The way his face fell when he realized she was still tethered to his brother—it was devastating. Jeremiah deserved honesty from the start, not this cruel back-and-forth game. Belly didn’t just break his heart—she CRUSHED it, and then walked away as if that was enough.
And Conrad? Don’t even get me started. For all of Belly’s grand speeches about confusion, what she’s really done is string him along too. She rejects him when he bares his soul, then stares at him longingly like she hasn’t just twisted the knife deeper. It’s selfish. It’s immature. And it’s exhausting. Honestly? It’s for the best that she bought that ticket to Paris. Let her stay there, sipping café lattes and journaling about “finding herself,” far away from the boys she’s left in ruins. The Fishers need peace, and Belly is chaos personified.
Staylor to the Rescue

But thank God this episode wasn’t all heartbreak. In the middle of the wreckage, we got a sliver of sunshine: Taylor and Steven. Their reunion was the one genuinely satisfying part of Episode 9. The banter, the stolen glances, the way their chemistry seemed to spark back to life after so much stubborn avoidance—finally, some romance that doesn’t make me want to throw my remote. Taylor is fire, Steven is the only one who can match her energy, and together they bring the kind of playful, magnetic love story that this show desperately needs right now.
So here’s my takeaway: Belly can stay lost in Paris, journaling about her summer mistakes. Conrad and Jeremiah deserve healing. And Taylor and Steven? They deserve center stage, because their regrowing chemistry feels like the only true love story worth rooting for at this point.
Sorry not sorry, besties—it’s official. I’m TEAM ANTI-BELLY FOREVER. Toodles!
