How Is Dark Winds?

The show captures the atmosphere and ambience of the 70s Southwest America. The growing tensions within the Navajo community and their viewpoint on white supremacists is very well captured. The show pulls us into the interesting world of Navajo and their customs. The first episode sets the right tone for the show and gives us an eerie feel of watching a supernatural mystery drama with Native American black magic elements. The relationship between the two police officers with conflicts in their ideologies and the case they try to solve makes this show a worthy spiritual successor to HBO’s True Detective.

What could have been better?

Some people might find the pace a bit slow. Despite of that, this show written and created by all the Native writers excels in engrossing the viewers with an interesting premise and a backdrop that is rarely explored on screen.
