FIRE AND WATER – Set in a city where fire-, water-, land-, and air-residents live together, Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in. Elemental focuses on Ember, a fiery character and Wade, a chilled water character and how they discover their similarities despite their differences. Leah Lewis plays Ember, while Mamoudou Athie plays Wade. Elemental was supposed to be Disney’s comeback in the animated game as post the pandemic Dreamworks’ films have been kicking their butts. However, Elemental crashed with the critics as it became Disney’s lowest rated original movie on Rotten Tomatoes ever (57%). However, once the film opened up in theatres, the audience showed love and warmth to it as the element-based romantic comedy earned over $397.1 million worldwide, $129 million of which came from the domestic market. Its Rotten Tomatoes score also went up to 76%.
The Peter Sohn directorial out-ranked many big-budget summer blockbusters like The Flash. Elemental caught many off guard, becoming one of the summer’s biggest box office surprises and carrying the momentum at the ticket window that Disney’s recent animated films just haven’t. After setting the summer box office on fire, the film is finally coming to streaming in Autumn.
Elemental Will Soon Be Available On Disney Plus!
The film was available on digital video-on-demand storefronts from August 15th and it was also announced that the rom-com will get its physical media release including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on Tuesday, September 26th. Despite these updates, we were not told about the film’s streaming release date on Disney+. However, after a long time, Disney has finally announced that Elemental will be available on Disney+ from Wednesday, September 13. Also, the making-of documentary for the movie called Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental will be debut on the streaming platform on the same day.

Elemental will be available for streaming on Disney+ from September 13th.
