The Mandalorian Season 3 Emily Swallow Confirms the Armorer Will Have A Bigger Role

Past few days have been a living heaven for Star Wars fans. That aside Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 trailer was also released which is all set to release this fall. We also got to know that Bryce Dallas Howard is returning to direct an episode of The Mandalorian season 3 and now we have some more awesome news regarding it.

The Armorer Returns in The Mandalorian Season 3

The Armorer, as you may remember, made her first appearance in The Mandalorian Season 1 and later on reprised her role in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5, Return of the Mandalorian. We the character is all set to return once again to the Star Wars universe for Mandalorian season 3. Actress Emily Swallow who portrayed the role confirmed the character will have a much larger presence in Mandalorian season 3.

The Armorer’s introduction in Boba Fett didn’t give much thought for her origins or background. Though her appearance is brief, the character is very much intriguing with an mysterious aura. Star Wars fans are interested to learn more about Emily Swallow’s role in the big universe. The actress recently revealed at Star Wars Celebration that there’s no back story for the Armorer and the makers of Star Wars TV Universe, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau didn’t tell her much about the character.

Emily Swallow said the following about The Armorer’s backstory:

Jon and Dave tell me remarkably little… Which I do appreciate, they leave it up to me. You know, I usually do come up with a pretty detailed backstory for characters, but I haven’t with her. And I think part of that is that it changes a lot for her. It changes depending on the needs of the moment she’s having, because she’s such an archetypal figure. She represents so many ideas, she represents this larger influence in Din Djarin’s life, so I find it is helpful to not attach super specific personal things to her. I do that for more personal moments, I do that for more personal interactions she has with him. I do sort of attach things that I can connect to, that I find could help with particular scenes. But I find it is constantly shifting, depending on what new information they give me for what’s going to happen in an episode. And I say ‘Well, maybe it’s more helpful if this is where she’s coming from, or maybe this happened in her past’. So I haven’t pinned her down, and I like that about her.

The third season of Mandalorian is slated to release in February 2023. That aside, The Mandalorian season 4 has already been confirmed by Jon Favreau.
