The world of Ice and Fire is all set to return after a largely disappointing final season of Game of Thrones and the hype is getting real. The first season of the prequel series House of the Dragon is all set to debut on HBO Max on 21st August 2022 and is said to have 10 episodes. The showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik intend to make at least 5 seasons. With barely 20 days to go, fans are really excited to revisit this dark fantasy world and explore the origin of their favorite houses. Well, this article isn’t for the people who like to witness stuff firsthand and so, MASSIVE SPOILER warning is now in effect!
House of the Dragon Episode 1 Spoilers and Leaks
Without wasting any time let’s begin with all the info we have received about the episode 1 of House of the Dragon. The first episode will introduce main players of the game, so it mainly focuses on Daemon, Rhaenyra, Alicent, Otto and Aerys. Sadly, the episode will not feature very much about the Velaryons and other characters. There is scene with Rhaenyra and her mother Aemma, where Aemma urges Rhaenyra to go take a bath because she smells like Dragons. This scene would remind of how Daenerys Targaryen was introduced in Game of Thrones although without negative connotations.
Talking about GOT, there is some nudity in this episode of House of the Dragon including Matt Smith nudity. Later on, Aemma dies giving birth kicking off the death meter for the series. Another important thing to note here is that the dragon we see in the funeral is Syrax, and the same as in the end of the first trailer for the series. Moving on, Aerys speaks to Daemon about his dream and it may be related to a secret that has to do with the fall of men which is being speculated to be the White Walkers!
While unexpected, it would be awesome to see more of the White Walkers and the Night King in House of the Dragon. You might have loved GOT season 8 or hated it, but it is fact that they totally messed up the Night King story which HBO hyped since season 1. Anyways, fans would love to see more of White Walkers, so please let this secret be about them. Moving on, Daemon and Rhaernya use high Valyrian to speak to each other and even though Daemon seems to be the family’s black sheep, but Rhaenyra is fond of him.
Talking about some other details, there is no appearance made by Vhagar in this episode and the character Mysaria is said to have Melisandre vibe. In fact, it is being speculated that she might know Melisandre or she might even actually be Melisandre herself. Lastly, Dragons in the episodes are said to have different forms/types. Syrax has two huge wings that go all the way back to his tail while Ceraxes has some additional small wings attached to his tail as we saw in “Returning to Westeros” trailer.
