The world of Ice and Fire is all set to return after a largely disappointing final season of Game of Thrones and the hype is getting real. The prequel series House of Dragon is all set to debut on HBO Max sometime this year and the good news is that the filming is all done! That’s right, the production of House of The Dragon is now wrapped and it’s under post-production stage now. Here’s all we know about it.

It has now been officially confirmed that the filming is now over but there’s still a lot that needs to be done. The biggest challenge this series faces is its own predecessor Game of Thrones. The visual effects especially CGI parts and the sound editing in post production could take a bit of time. That is precisely the reason we do not have a release date yet. Well, that and the uncertainty cause of the pandemic.
“Now that we are out of production, I think that we will talk to their guys and figure out what we want to do in terms of announcing a date. But I was just trying to make sure that we didn’t come out with a date that we couldn’t meet for something that was out of control out of our control.” said HBO and HBO Max’s programming chief Casey Bloys.
Set hundreds of years before the events of GOT, House of the Dragon focuses its premise around the House Targaryen. It will begin during the reign of King Viserys I and will work its way towards the famed Targaryen civil war. The series will be based on the book Dance of the Dragons of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. House of the Dragons will be led by a star studded cast inclusing Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Sonoya Mizuno, and Steve Toussaint.
House of The Dragon Full Trailer
You might be aware that the first teaser for House of the Dragon was released on October 5, 2021. Ever since then, we haven’t heard or seen much from HBO but that’s about to change. First, check out the first teaser for HOD if you haven’t seen it yet.
Ever since the trailer releases of Halo and, The Rings of Power, fans of Game of Thrones have been asking questions about the release of House of Dragon full trailer as well. Another big question fans are asking is whether the show would have a presence at San Diego Comic-Con. When asked the same to Bloys, he stated that he currently is unaware of a possible Comic-Con presence. He then went to say that it shouldn’t be long until some material is released but wasn’t clear about when we’ll see more from the widely anticipated show.
“I don’t know about Comic-Con; we haven’t announced any of our plans yet. I don’t even want to say “soon” but you’ll start to see material … if I say “soon,” I’ll leave that vague. So maybe soon,” emphasized Casey Bloys.
